Yes. This along with blasting ubers, saving team mates on fire and being able to blow people off of cliffs/heights. Honestly if you're having too much trouble killing heavies as a Pyro you're doing something wrong.
just shoot the medic off a cliff/ledge and you just saved the day
To do that, you'd have to find a Medic dumb enough to put himself in a position where he can take 'environmental' damage. Luckily most green medics don't really pay very good attention to their surroundings.
Best bet to take a medic out? A scout or a good sniper. Soldiers work too, but then again there's not much they aren't good for.
I love how the topic has derailed itself. Either way it's good discussion until we get our update post.
As Engineer I usually use Gunslinger on offense, Wrench on Defense (since I don't have the Southern Hospitality yet). Building movement is so damn useful for defensive Engies when you're short on time. I've found tons of good spots on Thunder Mountain where you can build a Tele Exit + Dispenser while preparing your Sentry to move to the front lines.
You probably wont have to get portal 2, the ps3 is integrating steam's multi-player and patching, and I believe they are adding tf2 support, but I could be wrong.
The only possible bad thing about this update is the surge of retards who will complain about the weapons being "unfitting" or "overpowered" or whatever have you based upon pictures alone.
Other than that, I'm excited to see how many they include, best of luck to all
So, if I have the Orange Box for PS3, and I get Portal 2, the games on the orange box willl be updated?
If they give the supposedly "unfavored" PS3, TF2 support, before the 360 I'd be so mad. I still play sometimes on 360, and it is honestly not even like 1/20th of the game it is on PC. If they release patches/DLC for PS3, and not 360, I'd be really mad.

360 is what I use the most (because ALL my friends use 360)
A few sites say that (in an interview) valve will release the updates when "more updates come out." Maybe after the Polycount update?
[A mouse is still waaay more accurate than a controller]
I'll be honest... I thought for sure that after all the classes had been updated that they'd patch the console versions.
Guess not. Should have known better though, what with Left 4 Dead and all
Do you need Steam to use the new stages/items? A number of sites (Google search) say they will be on the Game Marketplace.
I don't own any Sony products so I never pay attention to them at E3. I probably should

I haven't been able to keep up with the game and all its updates, so I see my 360 version as a nice change. Like a time machine back to 2007.
you know what I think is stopping the 360 from being updated... the LARGE amount of money microsoft will charge for said updates, If a few new weapons, some gamemodes, and a campaing cost a few dollars... imagine how much 9 class updates 1 classless update 2 (soon to be 3) community updates and a whole Heavy Weapons guy of new maps ADDED TO the many patches they made that altered the original to the point of being a Team Franken-fortress in comparison... come on, valve is already pissed that 360 charges for their updates.
If anything they might settle for a watered down "patched" version...
well, that and the culture shock of having all the updates at once would cause mass histeria, and a Mob of 360 gamers will rise up and storm valve and/or Microsoft offices and devour the flesh of the living... and those who don't will either like it or hate it so much they send of a Saxton-hailstorm of e-mails to Gabe Newell about how this wasn't the game they paid for... (imagine the haters that complain after every update... times that by oblivion)
so they would have to slowly update it overtime...which would lead to a never ending stream of updates, each costing X amount of money until the game (God forbid) becomes outdated and obsolete (when TF3 comes out) making the whole process an ultimate waste of time and LARGE waste of money which would go to Microsoft...
I was honestly surprised to see that most of them liked the Engi update.
Seriously, every little change they make in the game, they bitch about it. It actually manages to be worse that the Bungie forums.
The sc2 boards are pretty bad too, this is OP, terran is UP, nerf this, I can't beat that, change that back, you should add this. Zerg has less units, protoss shields recharge too fast, etc etc.
Homewrecker doesn't have horrible stats since they patched it. Being able to remove sappers is extremely useful especially when you don't enjoy using the Axtinguisher.
Without Larolaro there wouldn't be that awesome "the sapper destroyer" pyro.
I only complain about game balance when a certain item eliminates all other options.
IE:
* As an offensive pyro I see no reason to ever use the Fire Axe or Home Wrecker.
* As a heavy (unless planning on killing sentries) I see no reason to not use the natasha
* As a medic I see no reason to ever use the bonesaw. Ever.
** As a spy, being invincible 80% of the time with the dead ringer is (still) too time consuming for other players for it to be reasonable. Combine that with it being rechargable with ammo, and it is still damn hard to kill a DR spy unless you are a M2 Pyro.
YOU see no reason to use Homewrecker, Natasha, the bonesaw and other spywatches. While I agree that bonesaw is useless, I see a lot of people using those other weapons you listed and scoring high on the boards every game. I myself use the Homewrecker as Pyro on defense and offense. When someone's sapping a teleporter that saves you from a long walk don't you want to be able to save it? I hate the axtinguisher too. I can do much more damage to multiple people just spraying flames than lighting single people while flinging around an axe hoping to hit them.
The usefulness of most items is all based on personal opinion and experiences so you can't say that these weapons eliminate all other options when they only do for you.
Yes there is. Removing sappers from friendly buildings. I've saved quite a few buildings using it while playing Pyro. It removes sappers in less hits than any Engineer melee too. Also if you get the chance to get close enough to enemy buildings it destroys them faster than anything other than sticky bombs pretty much.

but, heavys are a pain for my playstyle

I want to be on a ps3 server from my computer please.
RAPE!
just more engi fixes...
Well, let's just hope that the patch was the only obstacle in the way of them posting the Polycount update.
We can only hope.

and yea, at least one person will complain. Perhaps the item will be too futuristic-looking or "game changing" for them.
More items for me just mean more choice and freedom.

Steam works will only be on the PS3, for now. Portal 3 is coming out on pretty much everything, ps3, 360, PC, and osx?
Guess not. Should have known better though, what with Left 4 Dead and all

Damnit Valve post the winners on the blog xD can't wait
You very apparently haven't read anything posted on the Steam forums.
Consider yourself lucky.
oh the horror, the horror!
