however, cheeezy, I you get finished perhaps you could create some fake stats? I always love reading those...they could make sense or be funny.
(EX stats for the Tire Bite: + 10% faster speed while weilding - 15% slower reload time
or + 50% biking ability - 100% ability to wear bike-shorts
For those who encounter a similar texture problem. I used BGRA8888 without any mipmapping. I think it looks great!
The only thing I would think to change is the newscarrier for different teams. Like "The Dust Bowl Delivery" for RED

Sorry to do this but don't the rules say you can't modify anything from VALVe or something? That newspaper is like from the Demo/Soldier update. AND (-)25% reload speed is a plus if you want it to be negative make it 125% or +25%
Fortunately for me, I remade the newspaper from scratch. It used pretty generic fonts. And saying I can't use the war newspaper as a reference is like saying we can't put the red or blu or mann co logo on anything. Also I think it was determined that we can use valve content including decompiled models.
And the stats were just for fun. Valve does that stuff.

So I added more to the ice cream model and spruced up the texture. I've decided I am going to bumpmap the details onto the cone itself. Now I ran into a problem with changing the particle effect, and I might have to leave it to valve.
The Bonk! particle effect is a .pcf file of which I am unfamiliar with. If anyone can lead me in the right direction, That would be appreciated. Additionally I am going to make a blu version with a blue cherry. "Blutonium Berry"
Wondered if you might make Vanilla the RED ice cream and Chocolate the BLU ice cream. Or some other flavor anywho. Lots of potential for Ice Cream Wars!
Perhaps what you could do is add team colored sprinkles, like said but instead of a cherry, you could do a topping I find very good and it is pretty basic to make for a model. What I was thinking of is is a DOT. You know, like the candy? Their is a blue one and a red one ,so I think it can work out. But, I am just a fan giving my opinion.

I like this idea! I think it would work and it fits with the time period. Also, like he said, it is simple to make and it would look great on the cone.
Does the game allow you to use different particle effects for both red and blu? Cause if not, you could make some of the sprinkles (on both) black, and make the particle effect be the black sprinkles.
Sweet, the sprinkles look good. Though it's kinda weird because you don't see a lot of sprinkles at the beginning that fly off and then there's less sprinkles, they just kind of pop out of nowhere and don't effect the amount on the cone. ...not sure how that could be avoided. (it's not that bad, just saying)
Also, I think you should darken your blindingly white textures slightly so they're a bit closer to the "white" of the scouts hand wraps, because your items are way brighter and it looks like they're not being lit properly.
I am having a lot of fun doing this. I have learned so much too since I basically didn't know anything other than modeling and .mdl compiling.

Here is my .qc but the second skin appears the same as the first. This stuff is getting on my nerves.
Both .vmts get loaded into the model view, but skin 2 is uneffected.
Yes both .vmts point to different textures. If I was to delete the blue .vmt, skin 2 doesn't give me a checkerboard like it should. That means something is wrong with my .qc.
