I've been thinking up names myself, there's a lot of potential for something really good.
The best I've come up with so far is Provocateur's Shill, though that might be a bit wordy.
As for hidden cards, I'm tempted to slip an ace (or a 10 for the 10th class) up the Spy's sleeve as part of my Winning Hand model, although I'm currently having a lot of trouble in getting anything rigged up at all.
I was also thinking of something like:
However with the Spy's long sleeves all the detail would've been hidden - which is kind of the point.
This is exactly what i was trying to point out but i couldn't find the right picture. :D
edit: also, you NEED to incorporate DICE into your polypack somehow.

How about "The Raw Deal"?
Or, if you make the hidden card a King, you can make a French pun out of it, and call it "The Roi Deal".
Ritz, I love your idea of having that extra card in his sleeve, but since the spy has full arm sleeves, it might just be easier to have the top of the card with only the number sticking out as well as adding more mystery to the Legendary 10th class.

Yeah, I've been through a load of potential jokes with the card numbers but eventually decided keeping it simple was the best option, it just looks neater.
Yeah I tried that first, I couldn't get it to look right though. I'm happy enough with the design I have now to go changing it. Maybe if I get some spare time after finishing everything else I could go back and have another try.
I like your ideas and executions of them so far. Any chance we can see the playing cards in the Spy's hands in-game? I can't really grasp how they would look without some sort of reference.
I'm pretty happy with the model for now, threw on a quick texture to make sure it's all working.
Looks great so far! I know you said it was a quick texture, but I should point out that the broken heart symbol looks like it needs to be re-centered slightly.
The best work I've seen so far. What about a hat? Are you going to make one? I think a jester hat would be a good idea, remembering the joker's hat. Keep up the good work!

I think it's too abstract for my theme and I don't think it'd suit the Spy at all.
If I get round to making a hat it'll probably be a peaked gambler's visor:
or some nice reflective glasses:
I don't really like hats though. If I have some spare time, maybe.
you could shorten the black part a little and just keep the broken red heart. Maybe for the BLU team you could have a different suite on the handle? - Clubs, Diamonds, Spades - (A blue heart wouldn't look too good.)
Shouldn't the spy be the joker? In lots of card games jokers are wild ie: they can act as any other card. Appropriate?
I agree.
I think the Card Deck should use regular symbols such as King, Jack, Queen, Ace, Joker and all... however the actual item would still use the regular window with a list of disguises that usually appear when you use the Disguise Case.
Ps: You could have Diamonds and Hearts for disguising as RED, and Clubs and Spades for disguising as BLU.
Remember that it's a disguise kit. The classes and the numbers on them correspond to the number you'd press on the keyboard to choose them as a disguise.

there's still the disguise menu overlay which is more prominent which isn't a part of the model.
in fact, the current disguise model has no numbers or classes on it at all.
As tempting as it is to throw in a few jokes, things wouldn't quite fit neatly enough in my opinion; I think it's best to keep things neat and match the HUD overlay.
Of course it'd be really simple to switch around the numbers if someone were to come up with a really good way to number then.
Possible References:
Scout - Soldier - A (Rocket) Pyro - Q (Lady), 8 (Fat Lady) Demo - 9♦ (Curse of Scotland), J♠/J♥/K♦ (One-eyed Royals) Heavy - K Engineer - K (Cowboy) Medic - Q, 6♥ (Loyalty at the Risk of Death) Sniper - J (Bower) Spy - A, Joker, 3 (Crab), J (Knave)
Counting backwards seems like a good way as well, because it makes the Spy King (it's HIS card set), Medic Queen, Sniper Jack, and if you skip a few numbers you could make the Scout Ace (if you hold on to the 1-9 class numbers in the select screen). However, I suggest keeping the numbers as they are for clarity.
If you're looking to add more cards, consider adding two cards for RED and for BLU that get switched around at the sides when you change disguise colours.
I kinda like the winning hand the way it is now. Giving classes certain cards (e.i. making the heavy king) seems going to far. Anyways, keep up the good work and best of luck to ya

Started on the model, having to make quite few changes because my concept doesn't actually translate that well to 3d.
'pyro is a girl' hint?
issue is people might start pressing q to disguise as pyro
Update:
Getting sick of the sight of this thing now, spent hours on a proper texture and it looks exactly the same as it did before.

you CAN have the Q and A in the texture, the disguise kit displays an overlay of the classes.
so the cards would be looks only.

I finally figured out how to get things working in modelviewer (I had the textures all named wrong...), so here's the knife.
I think the handle-section might be a bit long so I might have to shorten the black area, what do you think?

You can't have it!
lol
Shortened the whole thing, cut down the poly count a bit and added a specular map - calling this finished, at least until I've sorted my 3rd item out.
-woops looks like I was late
looks like I'm either going to have to do custom animations (which I have no idea how) or just make it a solid model and accept that it'll clip a ton.
If anyone knows of any good tutorials for getting weapons animated, let me know.
No room in the texture.
Besides, you'd never see them anyway.

Ace - Scout
Jack - Soldier (Jack of all trades)
Queen - Pyro
4 - Demo
King - Heavy
6 - Engineer
7 - Medic
8 - Sniper
Joker - Spy
Ha maybe i'm getting too technical.
And shouldn't the Ace be Saxton Hale or the announcer? Certainly not the scout as he is too leetle.
