They might put a lead pipe in the paper. You could do a newspaper rolled over a bat, maybe a comics page.
Funny u say that, my coworker bobby mentioned possibly putting a lug wrench inside of a newspaper. I think I'll go this direction, concepts to come tomorrow
Yes bell on a stick so he could tell people milk had arrived. The actor for scout's voice is the same for the church lunatic on left 4 dead, so he could say: DING DONG DING DONG! :P By the way someone already did a bat like that before.
Had another delivery idea. Aside from the markets, they used to deliver fish. I'm maybe destroying my entire theme but oh well, it's a fish in newspaper.

There's already a reference to the Church Guy in TF2
When Scout hits someone with the Sandman, he sometimes loudly exclaims "DING DONG!". (Not that I'm implying the community isn't allowed to make more references, I just thought it might be cool for you guys to know)
fish = awesome.
i got a whole british fish and chips themes theme going on. fish wrapped in newspaper with a few rogue french fires stuck in there as well.

If this thing doesn't have jiggle bones, there's no justice in this world.
I'm on it, lol I need to learn how the tech side of things anyways. It's unwrapped and I'm going to try to get the texture completed by tomorrow after work. My plan is to severe the head similar to the demo's bottle break. I'd like to have the mouth moving out and in. It would be pretty damn funny.
If you're going this far out of Milkman you might consider some mail themed things for delivery. Or something referencing Mailmen. The same hat you made could be retextured Blue and have a postman badge on it. Makes sense with Scout's delivery bag, too.
No, my theme hasnt changed. I'm still doing the fish and it will still be a special delivery. I will comp up another drawing later.
From the fin up will have the jiggle bone. It would look weird to see the paper move around like that. Here's a current screengrab from max. I still have to carve up the newspaper and add a bunch of stains.
Contrails- It would have been bad if I had textured the newspaper in photoshop. I first made the brushes that Swizzle and Frump shared out for us. Then I imported my brushes into 3d coat and painted the newspaper with the same properties as photoshop. I didn't have to worry about uv seams even though I chopped the newspaper up all over the place. i plan on supply valve with a texure w/o AO if they decide to use this. Maybe the fish could flop out? here's a low res version-
If I make the fish look angry he may not look like tf2 also. I need that subtle hint of realism even though the mesh is already stylized.
PROBLEM WITH JIGGLE:
I have my jigglebones set up in max. Does anyone know a good tutorial that shows how to add bones to an existing rig? In other words If I wanted to make the scouts bat jiggle- how would I apply the bones to the mesh?
Currently the fish is skinned to the hand bone of the scout in max. Do I need to link the jiggle bones? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hey Spetch the fish looks great! For the jiggle bones just link the root bone of the jiggle bone chain to the weapon bone or hand bone, whichever one the weapon is attached to. Then you should be able to just skin it to the jiggle bones and stuff. Also, do you still plan to have the head pop off when it whacks someone??
Psyke- I did a color range in photoshop to pull the logo out. What did you do for yours
Simski- Thanks alot man. I'll probably end up going with the Happy Farmers Cooperative since it is already in a circular shape. It would look best on the hat, and I can put the entire label on the milk bottle.
besides the hfc there's also the new Jobbs Orchards company which is assumed to be blu, so if you wanna use that it might be a nice thing to go along with the PC vs. mac debate.

Anyway, i like this stuff, specially because my Steam name is Milkman.

Norman Rockwell....have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moon light?

Anyways, gotta add the jiggle bone. I'm going to go back and thicken up the newspaper, tweak the fish a bit, tweak texture, and fix smoothing groups.

I already went through this tutorial-
http://www.fpsbanana.com/tuts/9351
he does not cover adding jiggle to existing skinned mesh.
