yiannisk - Ha, Agreed! I was actually thinking/working on this problem yesterday...My original sketch has them a lot thinner and I just got off track. Thks, spot on crit!
So ya I created an account hoping i could come in with some stingy criticism in an attempt to destroy your hopes and dreams you no talent hack! But alas, your stuff is always on point and tight, good work! Liked the shield idea on "Spidey" but leaner legs do give a more agile feel. Keep it up, look forward to more updates.
Nice man, really coming along. I actually dug the shield idea but can see how it was conflicting with what you had in mind. Looking forward to see what madness you have planned for the textures
Lowpoly came in to about 5,500 polys (still need to work on some small stuff) , normal mapped and started texturing. Any one have any color ideas? Crits?
That brings back good memories, very nice sketch, and I dig the spider, I think you couldve brought down the triangles in the legs a bit but looks great eitherway.
Really digging the new works man. I think you're doing some very interesting things with your edges. The most recent has some great lighting and shadow diffusion. It might just be me, but it seems like there should be a greater jump between values in the mid section of the lock. As it is now, it reads a little matte / wet clayish. Keep at it tho, really looking forward to more updates.
Something new im working on, a small robot to accompany a character im designing. Im still working on the body paneling, and I haven't yet modeled the tentacle pinchers that extend and retract into the body. Also, the main head/body spins freely around the center.
Man you've been busy! I love that robot and the Warhammer paint job. I've managed to completely miss out on the entire miniature painting scene. Definitely going to have to give it a shot now Keep it up!
This is your favorite fan! Bet you were up all night painting your warhammer figures. I knew they would be great, detailed and all, but how did you capture the lighting on such little space?? I know how small these figures are. Just amazing!
Devin Busha - Yup, I think the main reason, as of now, that Im even playing Warhammer is just to paint the figures... it's too much fun:)
Marlfox - Yeah, I just glued them to their bases and am now in the planning stages of how to decorate them. I went and pick up some sand and pebbles at he river, and will probably be gluing them on somehow. Do you play 40k?
Good stuff Makes me want to tell you to stop doing silly spiders and robots and stay with the anatomy/figure stuff - seems to be your strong side and there's not enough of it!
rasmus - Thanks, I agree, a lot of the subject matter Ive chosen for my work this last year has been based on learning...building my skills up so I won't have many hurdles when I tackle 3d figures. I want to be a character artist eventually, so the work is coming soon... as a matter of fact Im about to start a female character this next week:)
Ivory - thanks:)
Bommel - I don't currently work in the video game industry, I'd like to, but right now Im a cook... which is not my strength:(
D R E A M N T - Thank you, I appreciate it:)
finished the robot
Did some projection painting on Bobo's demon sdk
Ive been working on my portfolio website( its not up yet) and put together this page of figure drawings for it

nice definition.
It brings more weight to the head and makes the legs feel somehow weak.
maybe either lightening the clasps or strengthening the legs would be a nice solution to balance it a bit more?
Now I need to sulpt the front legs and touch everything up...then lowpoly(boo) and texturing(weee!)
marlfox - Yeah, Ive been rolling around a few ideas like that... haven't settled on one yet

marlfox8 - yeah, the values blend together a lot around the eyes making them read soft
