They didn't ditch the "thanks!" page did they? I didn't get one, what's the file size limit?
2 MB
that's what the error message says if your over the limit anyway. but its actually higher than that, I have gotten an item through that the materials zip file was close to 3 MB.
I know this may seem like a pretty bland model with pretty bland texture, but this is mainly practice for myself, and I must say I think it came out okay. I tried to go as machete-esque as I possibly could with the texture.
DKK, currently the submission process is Enter Steam Community Page URL, Upload your items and click Submit, Enter your Steam Community Page URL again, "Successful!" Page. Maybe you thought that the second Steam Community URL Page was restarting the process?
Yeah I don't know why they changed it... I was submitting a hat a few days ago and thought that they took out the Success! page. Decided to just stick my Community URL in again though to see if that would finish it and it did.
Yeah Zip I just submitted again same story, the second community URL just started the process again.
[edit] sorry the Sword is probably for the Demo[/edit]
Hmmm... Maybe you should e-mail Robin and ask him if it went through just to make sure, although I'm not sure that he'd respond. This new system seems a bit messed up though.
DKK sweet concept art, and the model is coming along nicely.
re.wind Perhaps you could make the blade of the cleaver larger ( in this direction: <--)
and then make the peppers MUCH larger and have them wrapped to the blade.

too tired to say anything
Just posting WIPS of the vintage gunslinger forearm (colors are just placeholders, unwrap this is going to be a nightmare)
DKK, if you decide to chose the butterfly knife, balisong blades aren't so short and tipped like that at the end. The back shouldn't be too blunt either, the blade's edge usually starts 3/4 to 1 inch from the swing on the safety side. Flipping blades for years gets you to notice these things.
Arca, that's looking very western retro. Good job with the type-writer idea.
@treythepunkkid definitely agreed on gettin it in before Halloween. It looks great, I actually wouldn't mind having that cleaver as a skin for the equalizer too.
@DKK I love your concept art style, and the revolver looks pretty cool. If you do decide to make the butterfly knife, I agree with Bishop, the blade is too short.
the sword looks good, but why are the yellow parts so blue-green-ish?
edit: I looked back at the concept art for it, and it does have the colors from it. It still looks weird to me being that color, maybe you could post different color schemes for it like you did with the Ice Pick.
@Arcaltarion wow, your model translated beautifully from concept art to actual model, great work. Concerning the screen though, I see that there is one hinge that attaches it to the main piece, but there is nothing that would secure it in the position its in. Perhaps you could add some small button lock/release mechanism somewhere (the top of the screen case possibly?).
The original knife from vanilla TF2 is a butterly knife. Doesn't mean he can't make a new one though. That way it can use the stock animations and such which Valve likes with community submissions.
I wanted to make something quick and this was all I could think of. Not sure if I will bother finishing/contributing it. Terminator (it also kind of looks like Duke Nukem) is licensed and it's pretty similar to the Hound Dog.
@Colonel88 > You can't link directly to your hardrive. Download Dropbox and put the files you want to share in the public folder. Then copy the public url, click insert image and paste the link. You can use hosting websites like imageshack/picasa... also, but dropbox is faster, and you can easily update your stuff.
@ Frump > I think it looks more like Duke Nukem at first, (which is great) but it's maybe not enough identifiable as Terminator, and not blond enough for Duke Nukem. Now a part mechanical face could be a nice idea, though not that easy without modifying the original face.
I think the side planks shud be thicker and we maybe not feel enough that the cauldron is pushing them away. Also there's maybe too much polygons on the cauldron to be homogeneous with tf2 other props. Pumpkins were cool, can't u add one anywhere ? =(
Concept model for a Minigun replacement is as complete as I can figure it could be. Thoughts? Any aspects of the gun that should or shouldn't be there? Once I think I have the proper idea, I am going to go back and re-do the whole thing to be more optimized and visually appealing.
@Zipfinator: Personally, I prefer the cart to have pumpkins like in WIP 1, as it added more of an atmosphere to the cart, instead of just the cauldron by itself.
@TheMooseLord: Textured Celtic designs would probably be a good idea.
@redsheep: thanks! about the screen; it's still WIP, I will add something later.
@DKK: the model of the sword is fantastic, but I think that green makes it look like a toy. also, your concept art is amazing and you allways manage to translate it to 3d wonderfully
@zip: I liked the first design more, the pumpkins added charm and you can even use the ones tf2 already has
@noors: that demo helmet will be my most wanted if it ends in game
The cauldron does kinda need something. How about if you propped it up on some feet and then added some smouldering wood underneath.
I did kinda like the pumpkins though. Perhaps you could make them jack-o-lanterns.
Anyway, I thought I might join in the fun again so I've finally gotten the Carnival Plague Doctor mask modelled and UVed. Just messing about finding a paint design that works at the moment.
anyone have any suggestions on what to put on the front and back? It looks a bit bare
Do you have a photo reference of what one of these things looks like? I think there was someone with a similar design on of the the sniper packs in the competition. It was the same guy who had the rifle with the didgeridoo over the muzzle. Might be worth having a look at.
Thanks for the suggestions, Arcaltarion. I want to try to keep the design reasonably consistent with a traditional Venetian Carnival mask so no weird riveted design.
I did consider for a while leaving the mask really simple like the other mask you have there but in the end I thought it looked a bit dull. I want to keep it simple, but with some nice bold decoration that can be seen from a distance.
I've got a melee weapon done, but I have no idea how to put it ingame ?
Just for test, is there any chance a QC for sniper hands / melee and SMD already exist ?
I'll take everything ^^
PM me or contact me on steam in the group "Bullet Crops Project"
Don't pay attention to my previous post, butI have a new question : are we constraint to make replacment model ? We can't add our weapon to the game without modifying the game ?

I really want to see molotov cocktails for tf2

Which reminds me I told someone to use a name tag and change the Skullcutter to "DECAPITATIOOOON!"
...Just an idea for any of you who liked Brutal Legend...
There can be only one.
Definitely has the potential to be an awesome hat

Wondering if i could get feedback on a little hat i am working on.
Meet tha Bombaclot.
Is this too offensive for valve?
Yeah it's offensive.
Crap, trying to upload a picture of my grenade launcher but it isn't working. Anyone help or tell me a good .jpg hosting website?
Loving the surge of life that this thread's gotten lately.

Ya gotta keep that bleached wood look for the grip though.
Musashi's Meat Slicer:)

Oh wow! That's fantastic! I'm actually working on a highlander set for the demoman.

I personally like how the knife has a shorter blade, and is that gun supposed to be a snub nosed revolver?
Now THATS cool (not saying any one else's work in this thread isn't. I love it all!)
By the way, what will you fill the pot with? What ever it is i hope jigglebones will be used!
@ Frump > I think it looks more like Duke Nukem at first, (which is great) but it's maybe not enough identifiable as Terminator, and not blond enough for Duke Nukem. Now a part mechanical face could be a nice idea, though not that easy without modifying the original face.
The cauldron is going to be filled with glowing green goo and it will be jiggleboned.
should i stick some celtic design on the flat bits to make it look better?
Please submit it, I can imagine myself chopping heads with a killer kabuto on my head
Oh, by the way. I am intending for this gun to shoot 4 gauge shotgun shells instead of bullets. Comparison chart here: http://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Shotshell-Comparison.jpg

just a quick google search, that maybe you've already done. but I found this design and think is frigging cool
this for a more clean texture, when less is more
anyone have any suggestions on what to put on the front and back? It looks a bit bare
Just need to texture it and it will be ready for uploading
And the engie visor

It would be better if you add some kind of liquid inside and maybe some potions near it.
do you like this more or does it look better with 3 keys?
