Nice hat! first thing I is that the red and blue on the hat looks very different from the soldiers "uniform" I don't know if you sampled the colour directly from his suit or not, if you didn't I suggest you do that so the hat fits better with the rest of the soldier colour wise.
The goggles are the first thing I notice because they look slightly out of place with that colour, have you tried making it a sky blue? or perhaps a little darker? At the moment it kind of sticks out a bit too much from the rest of the hat, not that it's a bad thing but instead of noticing the hat as a whole I notice the goggles.
Mesh looks great though would love to see it in the game
I really like that texture Joshua. It looks like it fits into TF2 and you could easily tell the difference between that and the pistol, simply from the texture. What are you going to call this?
Well still trying to get the hang of TF2 texturing style, but I'm learning little by little. Not entirely sure how I can do the ring-mail in the same style though.
Also working on a Garrison Cap for the Soldier. Just slapped a basic texture on there at the moment, but the model is pretty much done.
wow, that looks pretty epic... WANT
for the name, I read through a bit of info on the 1911, and it seems names like the Enforcer, Superior, or Stopper (maybe combined with "sidearm") would work the best.
Wow element I actually had the exact same idea for a spy misc. item yesterday. Nice work so far, but it seems like the pocket is too lit up compared to the surrounding area of the suit. Maybe there could be something along with the handkerchief, but idk. I really like that pistol Joshua and The Enforcer for a name seems B.A.
Heres another spy misc i made its pretty self explanitory
I feel this would perhaps be too hard to notice to be a misc item most people would enjoy. I do like the idea though.
If your up for a more advanced challenge, I think that adding a Rose to his pocket would probably be a more noticeable and more appreciated misc for the Spy. It would also fit his romantic/sophisticated personality very well.

Its funny you say that because i was gonna make a rose for a misc but i can't model a rose good.
Here's a quick model I made in blender. I'm pretty new to modeling, only been doing it for about..4 days?
The model is based off of a tactical marine's combat knife (the guy at the upper right has it: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1000380a_99120101025_BATacticalSquad_873x627.jpg )
I do need help from here though, although I have done this before I think I'm missing something, so if someone knows how to use blender well (cough joshuaC)I would like to know some settings or what not to use (for things like AO), also how to get the classic white AO bake picture that is seen often (Once again I'm new).
I'd really appreciate help/suggestions, thanks.
I think the wear is a step in the right direction but it's looking too generally applied.
You should start putting it in places where the finish would naturally wear more like the front of the trigger, the mag release button, the front back of the gripframe, the grip panels where the hand would rest, and the high points of the slide ridges.
Also any areas where metal would slide on metal should have light scratches and the coating will be worn off. Like the sides of the trigger, the barrel around the ejection port, and maybe where the slide sits on the frame.
The compact 1911 is a great model and the texture is very TF2-esque, but to me it just doesn't fit in with everything else. The other TF2 weapons may be based in reality, but the proportions are played with. Your gun just looks like a realistic handgun with a TF2 texture

If you can't notice, the slide is a good 1.5 times taller, and wider than a regular 1911, the hammer is oversized, and the grip safety is small.

I'll be sure to add some more wear in those areas.
I made a Warhammer 40k Terminator Storm Hammer. I think it's ok, but it's a little too shiny but I can' really seem to fix that with the vmt or alpha channel. Also it would help if I actually knew what I was doing in blender.
@RedSheep I had the same problem with my hat, because the alpha channel turned completely blank when I exported my bmp to vtf.
Try opening your vtf in VTFEdit and go to view> channel> A to see if it's still intact.
Saving it as a DXT5 vtf directly from Photoshop by using a vtf plug-in fixed it for me.

Well, it seems it is intact. My main problem is that I cannot manage to achieve the TF2 flat style that pretty much everything has, it makes me sad.
The hat turned out well, btw
Oh my god. Those are great drawings, if you're up to it you should definitely make Zoidberg's tentacles as a pyro misc. item and attach them to his oxygen filter.
Wow... Someone needs to get to work on a set of character model replacements for those! At the very least someone needs to model out Zoidberg's tentacles and web thing on his head taped on as a hat!

No idea what I'll name it yet.

Go to the Steam User Forums sometime, and see how they complain about the 'creative' items. Then again, who listens to them?
Thankfully, not very closely, or very seriously.

xD whoops, I'll fix that.
Being creative has little to do with TF2's style. Look at the majority of weapons in TF2, and they're mostly based in reality.
Decided to wear up the texture a bit.

I like it, do you will make it as skin?
Likely, yes.
Any luck catching that hedgehog yet? :-)

Also, my hat is finished

still gotta add in a hammer and a trigger, and a few more things(obviously)
purple = wood, black = steel. simple as that. will be doing texturing once I've got all the geo done and an actual UV.
The hat turned out well, btw
For a promo image similar to the one I put together for my bulldog shotgun.

i wanted to turn them into the Futurama cast
...scout too
maybe some zoidberg helmet would be fun, i should make that
i'm afraid there would be some issues with hitboxes, but damn, a futurama mod wud be so perfect.
thanks, I actually intend on remaking them so where its the claws AND the power gloves, so instead of being grafted into his flesh they'll be connected with the glove... thing. like this http://www.modelbits.co.uk/images/sm_terminator_right_lightning_claw_3_large.jpg
Probably going to upload it soon to Fpsbanana
Bender awesome hot, engy awesome, every model awesome. Zoidberg´s so cool ^^
But Hermes is the best in my opinion(Severly reduced pay all around)
