I have question what is the best way to fit model of the flamethrower in pyro's hands? I'm not sure about scaling everything right. I'm a noob in modeling. So what is the best way? Should i import pyro's model in Maya or what?
the best way would be to import the model for the default flamethrower and model your weapon around it. doing it after you've already modeled you weapon may be a challenge
Can anyone tell me if this has been done yet(to your knowledge)? I hope not!
No, I'd say the chance that someone else thought to make Scout into the main character of a Chinese novel from the 1500s is not too likely. Not trying to diss or discourge you or anything, I actually like the idea. I just mean that I don't think many other people would think to do that because not too many westerners even know who Sun Wukong is. (It's Goku from Dragonball for anyone else reading.)
@Mnemosynaut
Superb.
Alt name: "The Shadowy Shank"?
started a flamethrower still extremely wip but wanted to get some feedback while its still young. its called the brew master's blowtorch and as a fuel tank it has a whiskey barrel which will hopefully give me some practice on wood texturing
This is the Medium Rare. It's a vampire stake for the Spy.
Ha, I'm glad someone did this.
I thought it would be cool that someone give the Spy a stake, though if I had done it, I would probably have went in the opposite direction. Something like, you know, people always impale vampire with cheap wooden stakes that they find / make right when they need them. But the spy being more of the tidy professional/elegant type, he would probably have some kind of Deluxe Stake or something.
With that said, I admire how many people on this forum can make a simple idea still look visually interesting in the end. If I had made a "classic" wooden stake, it would just be a boring piece of wood x)
Yours actually looks cool
I really like the texture on the muzzle, glad you took the pyro logo out too, it didn't fit in that well.
Yeah, I know, but I wonder what he has in mind when he says a "vampire bat". A bat that looks like a vampire ? :P
Thanks for the feedback btw
What I mean by 'VampireBat' is pretty much a bat with teeth, strap a couple of stakes/metal/actual teeth to it and make it look like it has a vampire smile at it's top. Then make it transfer health from the victim to the Scout each time you hit with it. Instant VampireBat!
name the Demoman snake hat something like "The Slithering Scotsman" or "The Loch Ness Fakeout" if you're low on ideas
something stupid as long as it has an alliteration
i settled with this scheme instead. I wanted the dark red and blu before but it felt too much like the flamethrowers. I considered the gray earlier as well but it felt too realistic. team color yellows and flipped the tube to the other side to avoid clipping with the left hand. pretty much done and just waiting for final tests on HLMV. Starting with the melee now.

something like this gives me the idea that upon a kill, since we already have a spy weapon that grants regenerated life health. Vampire-like stats would be:
@Dashtoronto
Understand that it's rage-worthy because it would be completely game breaking. @Sexy Robot
Firecracker flamethrower? I like it. Does it have a name?

This is my first time making something in 3DS Max.. can someone tell me if am going about this the right way? This is the staff for my Monkey King Scout pack on a previous page. Pre-texture of course, those aren't the real colors yet.

I love it, excellent work, and great idea
@Sexy Robot - looks cool, is that a Van Helsing hat?
@Nzdjh - fits the Heavy nicely, is the white part paintable?
I went ahead and finished something I started a bit ago, not sure if it fits the Halloween theme but I wanted to jump in the bandwagon.
mask is paintable
I don't think it has many chances of getting in because of copyright issues, even if the vita-saw got in :P
maybe I should finish my other Bioshock themed item...

Eeyup.
BTW, is the glow in the Heavys eyes part of the model or is it Photoshoped in?

I need some reference to make the textures for this sentry smasher weapon.
@Nzdjh - I see. Well, you could still use 2 vmts with different settings for shininess. Can you show a pic in-game?
@Ducksink - interesting items... what class is the cobra for?
@Sexy Robot - cool!, I always thought of doing a Van Helsing hat but never got to actually model it. Are you planning any weapons for it?
something stupid as long as it has an alliteration
It's gonna' have the hat, crossbow, coffin razorback, and a misc pauldron donated by a friend.

weapon grants twice the movespeed for 30 seconds.
and/or
can also kill while cloaked.
and to make it overpowered:
grants regenerated life health.
Interesting snake-demo. May I ask what inspired it?
@Dashtoronto
It's supposed to kill vampires, not be vampire-like. It's not as if he decides the stats anyways. for fucks sake, NO
GOOD GAME.
ps. Don't hate.
ps.
Maybe.
Also;
I did some textures for my friend Kar-re. ( His model )
Still creating a 3d concept of the weapon,cause i suck drawing concepts in 2d lol
I change something to make it more aggressive & less fat
You should make it so has blood on it after a kill, like Half-Zatoichi.
Possible name suggestion, "The Suckulent Stake."
It's supposed to look worn, desaturated from use.
Understand that it's rage-worthy because it would be completely game breaking.

Firecracker flamethrower? I like it. Does it have a name?
okay. point taken. here, let me fix it.
There. Fixed it.
I love the splinter the most.
@Ducksink - good demoman pack, can you show a side view of the cobra?
