Nice work Makkon, you have officially made me jealous and inspired:) Your rendering of form has jumped considerably over the last year. I love how you push both line quality and tone at the same time, very hard to pull off. Any specific approach to youre anatomy? did you start with a specific book? Or did you just draw alot from refs? Your females and faces have some of the best proportions Ive ever seen:)
Bal: Thank you, man! I've really been pushing that a lot lately and I'm glad it's paying off
felipefrango: Haha, that's polycount. I stick around because there's artists that drive me to the depths of humility on a daily basis. It's why I love it here so much
DarkStar: Haha, that kind of does look like nick, doesn't it?
We still need to meet up while I'm in the region duder, I'm outta here near the end of may. Know any good life drawing sessions near downtown? (I'm at 800s/250e ish, without a car)
Sweet work Makkon, you're a true inspiration Thanks for the links too!
Man, I hope you land a job in Bethesda or something, your beast-folk designs in an Elder Scrolls game would be beyond amazing. Keep up the awesome work dude!
Hey guys! Sorry, I don't have any real excuse for not updating my sketchbook other than I just haven't done it yet. Just need some more time! In the meantime, I re-uploaded all of my old images to dropbox. they should all be visible from the start of this thread.
Also time, here's some old crud you've already seen. Lost the original file (was on a flash drive )
I'm fortunate enough to have seen most of these from your physical sketch book. You're work is absolutely incredible!! Pretty sure I've told you this already, but to emphasize i'm giving you a high five at work tomorrow.
Everything in here looks tops (especially those life drawings). I always enjoy stopping by here. Wouldn't mind seeing some more finished stuff from you, as good as all that traditional sketching is.
makkon, you have converted me to be a proud pony lover!!!! I love everything about it, not to mention the awesome creative and talented fanbase!! the whole community thrives on creativity, and you are my best example, im very serious. keep being awesome!!

ENODMI: Interestingly, the book I started off with was this:

He really broke it down for me, that my puny 14 year old brain could understand. Then I discovered a certain way to hold my pencil, sideways with the led flat:

It really smooths things out, and the initial drawing is faster, and shading so much more controllable and smooth. As far as anatomy, I use refs, and you can grab my whole current collection here:

The variety is awesome, especially the range in shapes and proportions for the faces!
