Robot body i think it looks decent. Im also learning riging. so if someone know any good tutorial on riging in 3dsmax i woul really appreciate if you could post it. Preferably with enveloping.
looks cool crazyfool I'm a bit less convinced by the texture work, especially that gray fabric on his belly, too much spec imho. Color palette might be improved too, you have green blue red, grays...maybe you should stick with only one type of color contrast
I started this model for my final. It's a Russian armored troop carrier, BTR-90. It's just under 9000 polys and has a 2048x2048 texture. I want to really make this model a big part of my portfolio so crits are welcome. Thanks!
tbaugher,
I think the headstones look very nice. And as I understand these are the environment for a zombie game yeah? The lighting probably won't be too bright and thus the contrast should be good.
tbaugher: I think the text would be more worn and eroded if these are VERY weathered. The embossed nature of it seems to jump out a tiny bit too much too me.
Otherwise it's looking really good, I like the dirt at the bottom and highlighted edges.
I'm trying to teach myself to make high poly models and learn me some zbrush. I'm a traditional sculptor as well, so I'm hoping it'll feel more intuitive for me.
Also working on my environment portfolio and making the Phantom's lair from Phantom of the Opera based somewhat off the designs from the musical.
I am in the middle of moving countries again right now, so no 3D/programming PC setup. I've been twiddling about with the laptop with a website project I've wanted to do for a while. I forgot how annoying it is getting everything working cross-browser/resolution.
Playing with the idea of dynamic wallpapers/backgrounds for it.
The live thing is up and running on http://catpee.net and I'm slowly adding content.

But I'm not a fan of the lighting in your beauty shot
esp. I don't like the background.
I like the face-light in your face-expression sheet a lot more.
And:
The stars should have some kind of a dof blur
also the background itself
But the Textures look great now
Anyway controllarrrhhh!
Looks nice but the buttons are too flat.
Also, the top two are dented inwards while the bottom two are dented outwards.
Keep it up.
Here is A high poly plantation style house I've been working on.

I am currently working on some gnarly fracturing for a 30 second commercial that will be realized in UE. No pix yet sorry!
Awesome to see it back online!
Hmm see you have adopted the UE3, being part of EG now.

First attempt at hard surface modeling.
Kwakkie that's an awesome sun guy. Reminds me of the sun and moon from Soul Eater.
