I would suggest NOT having soft round edges be that ThiCk, cars edges are sheet metal that has been bent not metal that hast been forged, its not cast iron
digging the scoop, but looks a bit big, what you have in there a 454, superchaged?
hello i am one of member in AJizzle's team working on the gas station
i am working on the gas station
i am posting to acknowledge my position on the team for the demo in the class
the work in progress is to come soon
Ajizzle: It looks like someone jizzled all over that car. To doughy..not faithful enough to the real car. Props to you for tackling something like this but does not hold up against other cars. Make it pro.
Bullseye: use tiling textures? It looks to low res...if I tried to get up close to that it would fall apart. Looks like you made it more for an RTS game and not for first person.
I think he also meant the textures.Like multi subing or Lerping tileable textures so it'll look crisp up close.
No he didn't mean that the geometry is low, I mean IT IS in BG(da last bldg actually) so thats fine. He just meant your texture is too low res. So just fix that.
bulls_eye - up-rez the texture if need be, make it a 2048 or 1024 depending on how big it is and how much is unique in it. it does look low-ressy at the moment.
bulls eye... are you doing that building for an rts or for something in the distance? why not use a few tileable textures rather than try to stick the entire on a huge ass texture?
Salvador: Palm tree is good...would put more segments in the leaves though so they aren't so polys aren't that obvious...look at the crysis palms...they are perfect.
OneTru: Building is good because it is done but bad because it isn't up to the level it needs to be. Your whole team needs to be doing tiling textures...look at games like call of duty 4 to see how they do their buildings. Looks like it is made out of playdo. Bricks are to drawn...did you make it all in zbrush...you need to be way tighter with your sculpts.
Drapes look like rocks. Would redo with seperate material and normal.
Feel like I've fallen a behind, had our concept swapped out from under us in class last week, but gained two more team members, Currently have a blackout and some grey...
...going to have to rock out a lot harder on this on the next few days.
Got a new team name GATAK! because with an expanded roster killatoli seemed a bit inappropriate.
What is this force lightning you speak of? He shoots rainbows from his finger tips!
Spent far too much time on it though, I was planning on making this, working on a boat, then making a USP for a 1v1 fight club....not enough hours in a day!
Yes it did. Shouldn't it have some cracks though? And YAY for my 'Stryker' crashing Max 2 TIMES @ skool! Done w/ da hi-poly but PC's put up a fight trying to handle it. ARGH! NEED TO FINISH!:poly127:

Hopefully tomorrow. I'll be at skool and I hope turnin on turbosmooth on evrythin doesn't crash Max....AGAIN! If not, then I'll show the lo-poly at least.:)
Been a bit ashamed to show my slow slow works... got some corrugated metal to show off , going to finish the house front with the rest of today now that I have the texture process locked down
hey toli, i got a few crits on the corrugated metal.
the part where the paint is worn off should be more rusted.
i think for your scene, you shouldnt have metal that hasnt been rusted at all, after all it is a sea port, if i remember correctly.
something like this.
also, the scratches you have on the raised bits are too even and mechanical. they look like somebody deliberately scratched them one by one. you want to make it look like it was worn away little by little over a long period, so use a lower opacity with way more strokes. a few of what you have now every here and there.
Hey Benno, floors comming along nicley. My only crits are to maybe have a lighter gray and some different color variations like some slight browns and moss green type stuff around. Maybe even adding a bit of small weeds/grass between tiles.
