more progress. hooked all the worm's parts up and adjusted spike sizes. also messed with frontal spike things...will probably add 2 more large ones and a few smaller ones. Added nails, ooze and reins. also flipped the tail ... I think it does more for the silhouette this way.

tried to add more character tonite -- added dental floss, nom nom treats (in barrel, going to have some sort of bone paint on it), a silver tooth (he is going to have massive scarring and effed up gums around that one), stirrups, a random rag and more horns to the worm to make him feel more noble and smart. Almost time for sculpting. I want to add some sort of lance or metal picks as a remnant of the rider but I can't find a place to squeeze them in. I am removing the rider's body completely -- I think it is working well without him and it'll just suck up much needed triangles. A well placed gore stain will probably achieve the same effect.
@culpin: 40 or 50k -- everything is reinforced and ready for sculpting. The poly count doesn't matter at this point since I will be remeshing once the high res sculpt is done. You can expect to see some sculpting updates this weekend @konstruct: thanks dude I am hoping to add some more of that around the worm.
hahaha that's awesome man, i have to agree the slime on the teeth really add to the whole design. Also a big fan of the strap work, can't really find anything out of place in the piece.
exported everything to ZBrush and took care of splitting this thing into parts to get max resolution. Started with some sculpting on a few of the teeth, gums, barbed wire and some of the lips.

I love the way you have approached this Dominance War mate, great little concept, nice low poly modelling and by the looks of it you'll end up with a nice zbrush sculpt. Top draw stuff!
his teeth really make me happy, they're like wooden planks! The lower lip feels a little flat, but the detail level is awesome Honestly, I really really like this model.

I think you've got a bitchin silhouette and a great overall design, but the sculpt could use more specific muscle details. Right now it looks like you're just giving it a generic overall dino skin treatment, dont be afraid to really go in there and bust out some tendons and muscles between the major forms.
Great work! I can imagine the beast suffering under the worm stings.
I wonder what kind of eye you will choose for that naughty worm
(staring at the beast or seeking for a prey, may be?).

I am not sure about the 2x4...but I did add a silver tooth It's going to be the one right below the gum damage / lips with stitches. I figured he got mauled by some enemy just before his rider was killed so they had time to patch him up. @konstruct: Leaving the horns for last -- might take a stab at some paintovers and see what i can come up with. I don't want to detract from the mouth too much but I do want to explore the horns more if I have time. Thanks for the suggestion!!

coming along awesomely! the detailing on the skin and teeth is great!. also the straps and such have subdivided very nicely. cant wait to see what u have in store for the worm.
I know it looks pretty much the same, but I spent the last few days sharpening up details and sculpting teeth. The next week is going to be spent on the worm and nom nom gear. I still want to explore the horns ... gonna be tight on time.

Looking very cool man. Only crit I have is that the knees of the back legs look a little funky from the back view. From sides it seems all good though Looking forward to more, time seems to disappear quickly, hehe

Great concept! I think turning the front feet in a bit more and maybe a couple of little nostrils might help give it slightly more character.
