nice work the map looks much better i dig this pretty hard, not sure of his scale at the moment, might be nice to include some scaling elements in his pedistal!
damn, the normals on this came out super clean -- congrats! This would definantly benefit from a chipped paint and spec pass -- come out super badass tho!
Well the problem is that i can't put an emissive map on the marmoset engine >.<, I'll probably add it with photoshop on the beautyshot and let it this way on the presentation shot
wow ezmoew! I cant believe that I haven't seen this thread yet. Nice work, and kick ass character. I like the pedestal, although, the sense of scale is a little confusing atm. is it super small or massively big?
Made another version which is think is more what i was aiming at. the shape are less readable but i guess the presentation shot will be there for that.
I'd suggest more contrast, like darker light and stronger specular and more glow on the glowy parts. All to really make it as moody as possible.
Would be cool with a landscape as well.
Ok , for now I'm going with that, some shot may need some small modification but globaly that should be all. (Yup I know the concept sheet is poor but as I used only that as concept...>.<)
Thanks guys. I'm still wondering about my textures, in the first place I wanted to put more details an scratches but i think it would trouble (even more) the scale impression of the robot (it's a scout, it's not as much big or gigantic as some of you could think >.<)
hey EzMeow, wonderful work! Great entry for Polycount and I think you did an awesome job at creature design, texture but Id tweak the lighting a bit on your 1st image. try and make the sky a bit lighter at the bottom of the image to boost the constrast with the foreground characters.
For the scale issue, you could maybe add a human silouette in the construction shoot somewhere to give a hint of the size of the beast.
pretty freakin cool man- I wish the red had some glow falloff on it- with maybe a hot orange center that rolls off into a deep reed. I`m completely awestruck by the bake on this bad boi.
You did great with your background.
The sky particularly fits the scouts slightly purple lighting.
Great work! Don't you have a sky for me? I'm looking for
a good one

(funny how I always spend a lot of time on some elements that it never show in the screenshot <.<)
Still disappointed that you don't have make your "KeanuReeves" concept...
Just a remark : can you make glowing the red light and PolyCount logo part on your render ?
Keep it up man :thumb:
superbadass!

Cool that you kept the little dude
on your concept sheet
