A bit lost at the moment :-P Doing some work here and there, polishing parts, blocking out parts, fiddling with the concept. I have some ideas on how to make it more interesting, have to put the down on paper asap...
Very nice update Like your styl withis one normal one mechanical arm. You did similar thing with the desert wanderer. Why i am saying that is beacouse model gained lots of personality with this arm:D Love it!
knowing how your stuff turns out, i'm excited for the final product.
I'm not superexcited about his face right now, but... we'll see. In the concept it looked cool.
great details but Im getting lost in the shapes a bit, I cant really imagine him being able to turn his head at all - got a touch of that batman syndrome
I must agree with Ged, the details are really fantastic, but the functionality worries me. I'm interested on your plans for the legs atm, I think a more heavy design on his right leg could balance out the shapes of the torso, just a suggestion ;p. Overall its looking good so far.
Ged: thanks. I just checked, the head is okay! he got more or less a full 180 degrees of free movement, as long as he tilts his head slightly so the helmet doesnt scrape against the collar
is it the shapes overall that are confusing or is it mainly the back/arms with the blockout? Or is the front of the torso hard to read aswell?
Davidskiwan: the legs are..uhm. Kind of heavy, they have rockets in them, afterall ^^ don't know if I will make them unique yet or not
This is the win, I am looking forward to seeing up coming progress. Bookmarked
Would be cool to see the shoulder on his right side bulked up a bit, it looks a little small compared to his chest and arm. Maybe its the angle though. I know you you've already gone through so much detail on the shoulder and testing out the scale on it wont work out but if you can give it a whirl try it out! If it looks bad then my eye must be way off. Great work though Snefer this is completely awesome, I can see this guy topping off your wandering man character already
Wicked-J: wich one? The left one? Its very straightforward actually..
bilbana: Viking space-warlord! ^^ haha
JFletcher: cheers man, love the way your piece is going aswell
turpedo: do you mean his right side or the right side in the pic? ^^ the small shoulderpad on his left arm is intended to be small cause there will be alot of stuf happening around there, i think much mobility would be lost if i made it bigger, as for the other ones, I don't to go TO warhammer-y with huge shoulderpads :] cheers!
Ohh sorry I was talking about the pad on his right shoulder. Now that I look at it again I think it looks good. I think it will all depend on how the rest of that arm flows and what you do with it. Cant wait to see the next update
I'm wondering about the one on the right side obviously, the one that actually looks movable and mechanical... I know the basic shoulder guards on the left aren't going to move around.
The right side... What does it do? How does it work?
that is one metric butt ton load of detail, sir. I highly reccomend the schedule thing ... it would be a shame to lose out on texture work when you have so much going for it right now. Nice stuff+++
Beltann: cheers man
onelung: thanks alot :]
r4ptur3: thanks, yeah.. i don't want to rush the texturing
Wicked-J: hmm. still not entirely sure what you mean, but the big thing on the right side is some kind of power panel for the hydraulics that power his right arm, so he can hold that big ass weapon ^^ The shoulder pad itself is just a basic armor part.
Some minor updates here, on the helmet, etc, been working alot on the back, but that still looks like a wierd clusterfuck so Im not gonna show you until its more readable ^^
jox: thanks man
long time no update... wokring way too slow... extremely wippy picture to follow, lots of wierdness going on..uh... really not sure of what I'm doing
Naeh, I dropped the ball on this one, didn't like it enough, and other stuff got in the way.. First time I ever drop out of a contest, but there is a first time for everything ^^ Next time, I suppose

Heja Sverige!
i especially like the armor branching off the shoulder piece.

He really needs something else imo. Something to unify his look. Right now he's a lot of awesome individual pieces, but... so what?
Maybe sculpting the armor a little bit would help.
I think the bands in the stomach are a little weird too.
I'm sure you got something in mind, so let's whip out the awesome sauce!
Btw congrats winning pcounts general portraits! I think it'll go far in the finals
