ooodelidoodeli. The head is a joke right now. No shapes at all, need to come up with something funky there And the magic weapon/cannon needs...an idea ^^
haha, yeah, I decided to go in a totally new direction and have lots of techy details on my character *cough* Starting to feel a bit of love now. Maybe he and I can work this out.
Holy crap looking good. Maybe make the horns a little less wimpy, give em a little more length and bulk and maybe add some tech bits to the top of the helmet.
I wish I didn't suck so at painting, but yeah, its good practise I'm getting there slowly, starting to block out ideas while I progress with this
oh yeah, and the weapon is not gonna be like a huge glove, more like a huge..thing attatched to his arm, but so big it almost covers his whole forearm. It's gonna have an attachment to his back-machine thingy to help him aim and hold the damn thing
love the detail clusters, especially the left shoulder bit very i think if the horns were a tad bigger it might fit moreschnazzy appropriately the shilouette on the right looks perfect i think they are a tad bigger there also dont know how i feel about the sword......he just seems more like an axe man to me
Thanks :] I hope those details will be as fun to model as I hope they will Hmm, I dunno, kinda like the horns, fits the barbaric style im going for, but I'll play around with some other ideas aswell... anyways, started sketching the back, also did a 3d blockout so I can get a better feeling for the shapes aswell... need to get to modelling soon ^^
damn, I want to avoid that :-O haha, no, but I think I see what you mean, the likeness will go away as I progress, methinks, this armor is a bit more slim ^^
Man o' man, you do your highpoly with sub-d modeling right? Anyways aside from the technical that is great man id expect nothing less from your work tho. u sir are an animal and i would love to see a tut on your hard surface skills.
woogity: Yeah, my base highpoly is always with sub-D, but I try to take it into Zbrush to dent it up when needed aswell Unless its organic, ofcourse, cause then I use zbrush more extensively. as for a tutorial, yeah maybe so at some point if people would like so ^^
The detailing is freakin awesome but it appears a tad generic to me. Wouldn't it be better to flesh out the whole character first, both on the concept and in 3d? Will be easier to judge the design imo.
And I'd also drop the horns. I think they steal attention from the rest of the head. Also I'm not sure about those huge lense thingys on the head.
Off topic: You work at Massive eh? That's awesome. Was there on a visit whith class last december. Looks really nice there.
Yup, its a tad generic ^^ That was a decision by me, I want to make something that looks slightly "realistic" when it comes to proportions, armor, etc. No extra wierd arms or stuff like that.
The concept is basically done inside my head, I have worked more on the 2d concept since the last post, but I wont post it until its finished, didn't feel like spamming the thread with every little change I made And those huge lense-thingys will probably make more sense when they look like in the concept instead of some placeholder cylinder-clusterfuck

Yeah awesome detailing Snefer, but damn you! You put those silly losanges on his belts again, like on your mini entry!
Keep up the good work, all those details are gonna look yummy baked.
Bal: haha, but I like them!! Thanks
Belltann: Thanks! Concepts are for people without visualisation skills! *cough* or people that can actually paint... ^^
The detail is crazy, and i'm pretty sure you are aware of that, but the model does not have the power of concept. Maybe the hips are more narrow- overall he is less massive than on the concept. but i hope you will add some stuff and equip to make him look stronger.
Regards!
JFletcher: you cant image what happens when you give him a nipple twist! Hot steaming plasma everywhere, hot and sticky!
morte: hmm, yeah I see what you mean, I will play around more with the proportions of his waist/hips, also I think proper arms will add to the massive feeling. Thanks for the feedback :]
Jaci, conte: cheers
i noticed the diamonds on the belts right away... i think i like having something there to break it up a bit. speaking of which u do love your belts don't you? well you should they look fantastic. also the turbine nipple is decidedly badass. cant wait to see whats going on with the crazy ass helmet will look cool. also cheers on going realistic, it will help it stand out of a crowd of horned wingy things wif big nasty teeth.

Looks a little too much like a predator right now, might want to push away from that.
Scrumpy: yeah, those horns are..wierd. Mjeh, I'll try to figure something out
cheers ^^
i like it so far
Nice flow and details. Keep it up.

Maybe try a different style of horns?

I'd love the see the horns at least the same length as that shoulder piece (with equivalent scale in girth).
Bulkier legs might give him a stronger sense of weight too.
armor reminds me of fallout for some reason
damn, I want to avoid that :-O haha, no, but I think I see what you mean, the likeness will go away as I progress, methinks, this armor is a bit more slim ^^

Then I'm looking forward for the update then.

that is the most beautiful mechanical nipple i have ever seen in my life!
everything looks top notch so far, and i love the continuing style from your mini-war challenge general
