I'm busy detailing a TF2 map I've been working on. It'll be in public beta once I get the rest of the map all nicely detailed as well. This is so much damn work, but I'm really glad I got a ton of testing done with basic geometry; making layout and gameplay changes with this amount of detail to worry about would just be nuts.
Some pixels I made, tend to do stuff like this when Im bored.
I think I might place some of these on random place on my portfolio site for fun, where they would give witty comments about some of my work or something...
I was bored today so i wrote this stuff I had in mind. It's a modification of a regular point light system with quadratic decay. Instead of using point lights that have no physical shape I'm using spheres.
It's more expensive of course and I haven't optimized anything yet, plus it only works with specular right now. You can see the diffuse contribution is still pretty dim even near the big ball on the right, but the highlight has the right shape. You can also see that the small light on the left is almost acting like a point, but that the one on the right project a correct specular reflection on the ground.
Hey guys! Couple of bits from me. Some nonsense characters - thumbnails are fun!!!
Quick Mignola rip-off for a sculpt I'm considering doing for the comp @ Sinister Circle, although a character from the Werner Herzog movie 'Aguirre' is perhaps a little too obscure:
Dev0205: For a first attempt it's cool but you went into detail too early. The underlying shapes don't seem believable. Also, the details seem like a lot of noise without real reason.

here's some old poop i picked up
Painted this after looking at some Three Kingdoms stuff and Chinese armor.. but he came out looking Arabian.. Ah well.
That could be the colour scheme, so if you wanted to fix that, that's what I'd change. Really nice painting though.

maybe i'll post my reference pics here later, from wich i model this.
Heavily based on forgeworlds custom sentinel model.
Next on the figure...
Palm: Oh, how I love machineflesh stuff. Great job! He looks somewhat like an ambassador to me. Representing the Stroggs or something. :P
i'd show them on specular, not on the diffuse.
Hell yeah, that looks great Mike, it would be cool if you fixed up that normal map error on the front strap, would be perfect then!
That is so full of awesome :O
Nice job
kwakkie, those pixels are adorable.
My own pixels. Needs cleanup and fixing tonight.
Overall it's good, but if you add some shadows/highlights to the texture it would be much much better.
hope you washed your hands... his right leg looks kind of un-happy

Quicky:
Cheers, Nick.
This is the last one.;) A bit more interesting lightning. 3 omni and post bloom. Still a "printscreen".
wash my hands?? i just stepped out of the shower, if that's the kind of stuff u'r into. otherwise :?
unhappy leg u mean the geometry or texture?
palm - it looks good, printscreen or not. i think the additional effects overwhelm the subtleties of your palette, might wonna tweak one or the other.
some baking
Awesome work as usual The last env. is just mind blowing !
Also, Renaud, I'm pretty sure you have to sacrifice a chicken on his keyboard to get his powers.
Nick, I like your speed-paintings.
I'm just guessing but it might be the huge boot on the characters left foot. Looks like a cast compared to the other foot.
My entry for comicon
Awsome stuff as always guys!
Spacey- love that guy!
My first real Zbrush attempt. Was going for an older Hydra on the verge of evolving into something more sinister.
