Renderjhs: ooh, nice. I'm pretty used to my ff setup, though. It gives me hope that I'm not the only one who'd use that, though, so maybe there's an extension (or interest in one).
Japhir: As you might have understood from rjhs' post, what I want is to go to the thread above or below the one you're currently in, like the old 'newer thread' and 'older thread' on Polycount, but then with a hotkey.
My most current task is getting the search to function. I think the database needs a repair but I am checking with vBulletin first before I pull the trigger on that.
Additionally, there's some broken columns that only the admins & mods can see that I shall try and fix as they're seriously outta whack.
Other than that, just waiting on Gamespy to give us what we need
Alright, update on searching: It's been working all along. However, vBulletin search is pretty particular about words used when searching. I tried searching for "shoddy game courses" which yielded no results because the title of that thread is "shoddy gameS courses" with 'games' being plural.
I'll look in to getting Google search for the update. In the mean time, shorten your search terms.
or use google,-
these vblulletin search pages are a disaster- I noticed using google often gets me what I really search for. Not something that can be fixed easily or anytime soon I suppose
haven't read completely through this thread but has it been mentioned that having a large horizontal picture at the top of the image perhaps doesn't work so well for presenting something like characters? i'd instead suggest having a gallery on top like at cgtalk and just using the top bar for several square-ish previews that link directly to the author's thread (or whatever) when clicked on.
almighty_gir: Do you mean in the "BLACK_wide" theme, it's left aligned? That's true... but since the banner is fixed width anyway, currently wherever we put it will look a bit strange since the forum will expand to fit the width of your browser window.
However, on the main (non-wide) theme, the header image is correctly centred in Firefox. On my machine it is, anyway.
i'm running on a 1920*1080 tv, overall i love the theme, and the banner is awesome. it's just weird how on IE7 it is centred properly, and in firefox it's left aligned.
lol, that's certainly a way of doing it. Another way would be to leave the banner art strictly in the forum navigation and out of the threads. Just a suggestion.
Now that you're hacking away at the spacestation's innards, would it be possible to get like a plugin which lets you go to the previous/next page/thread with a hotkey?
Does anyone know of a greasemonkey script that could do this?
There was a vbulletin greasemonkey script that used n and p for next and previous, but I couldn't get that to work. This one can used rmb-scroll to go through threads, and once it's at the last page of a thread it goes to the next one in the list. Pretty sweet!

EDIT: oh, and sorry about that mightypea :P.
Or else.
when viewing in IE, the banner is centred, but when viewing in firefox, it's left aligned.
other than that, it's schweet.

The banner art is too much of an distraction when you're viewing other peoples art imho. I'd like it cleaner and simpler. It clutters the threads.

...keep it up.
I dont even notice it when i´m in threads.
i'm running whichever version of firefox is the standard download from their website lol.
