corv: nobody is going to steal your unqiue textures - putting watermarks on them looks kinda strange. its very odd imo as its useless to anyone who doesnt have your 3d models with the perfect matching uv`s.
Nice work though
hehe yeah, seeing water-marks kinda pisses me off. And it really doesnt make sense to watermark it and put it up for criticism.
Everything looks awesome
This does look like it could potentially be a lot of fun to play, and the style is a nice break from the grunge and grime everyone seems to have woodies for these days.
One thing I noticed, and please feel free to slap me with a wet fish if I'm wrong, but in your editor you don't have any tile sections with entrances/corridors at angles other than 90 or 45 degrees, and yet you allow rotation of the tiles at several intervals inbetween. It would be more user-friendly to simply snap the rotations to these two fixed angles if that ultimately is the extent of the options available.
Hello ;D Thanks for all the replies on this post so far - I'm glad people are still interested in the game and hopefully like how it is progressing. We've just put up a new development log at http://multivaders.com which we'll start to post progress updates at alongside this thread. Feel free to drop in, post a comment or just browse the site.
Apologies for the lack of updates the past couple weeks. I've been down in London for Christmas and only had access to my laptop. Despite this, we've managed to get quite a bit done and are looking for a small tech demo release soon. It'll contain a single multiplayer scenario and also give people a chance to play with an initial version of the editor and give us some feedback.
I'll start with some videos.
The first shows our work on the enemy AI. A bad guy (not the medic) tries to dynamically find the best source of cover in the room. Enemies will try and duck behind objects where they're partially covered from your fire.
These videos show our new effects editor being used to create a few particle effects for the demo. The editor allows some complex stacking of particle/render effects that let you make lots of cool looking effects.
And now for some pictures - I'll post more later once I've collected all the art from everyone.
We're still looking for help - I've replied to a couple guys who have pm'd or emailed me on the site. If you think you can help out, have the spare time and can create art that fits in perfectly with the style of the game, feel free to drop me a pm, or send me an email - dummy@paradum.com. We've looking for texture artists, character/prop modellers, animators and concept artists.
