looking pretty cool, feels a lot emptier than before though. Maybe the white goo would look less spunk-like if it were more metallic like mercury or something? I noticed a few spots that felt unfinished in the piece that I pointed out here:
It looks like some of those cables/wires are untextured and that one thicker cable is hanging off the platform a little off.
Update: We're pretty well calling this 'done'! It was a lot of fun working with Boyd on this. Collaborating with someone you work with daily makes the ease of a collaborative effort much easier.
I'm a bit tired now, so some time this week I'll post with the specs.
This is cool! I think you guys definitely achieved the whole evil/sinister atmosphere with this thing and maybe thats exactly what you wanted (success!). However, it occurred to me while looking at these images that I really don't know what any of it does, what it is/was for, how it was used. I know you've got a nice story behind it, but I feel that if I didn't know the story I really wouldn't know what happened. Don't get me wrong, I can easily tell that this isn't a place I would want to be. I can tell that somebody was monitoring something while something else was hooked up to those gnarly tubes, but I don't know that it was humans tearing up god-like vessel/beings. Just my $.02 really. Nice work though, good luck!
Right on erik!, thanks for the kind words and great points. While I think that can be said about a lot of the entries, I think a bit of wonderment is a good thing.
