In the far distant past, a peaceful but strong race lived comfortably on their home planet. They had a love of fine ale, athletics, and admiring flowers. When the Polycount dropships arrived, they greeted them with open arms.. and were met with power swords and guns and guns that shoot power swords! Not even their most powerful of shamans could stand up against the onslaught!
Centuries passed, and the once peaceful race were taken and enslaved by their evil masters, their bulk and strength now bent towards fighting and killing. Genetic enhancements were made that heightened their senses and skills, and soon they became one of the most deadly polycount attack forces..
UNTIL!
The ultimate weapon was deployed in the year 5 bazillion, wiping out all robot forces and preventing any circuitry from functioning in the known universe. At precisely the same moment far far away, the Thought Suppression Collars employed by Polycount suffered a catastrophic failure. The once docile race, mad with anger, turned on their oppressors and painted the interior of the small outpost crimson.
Many years have passed since that day, yet the scars have not healed on this unfortunate race.. Claiming the tools and territory of their old masters a new culture emerged, one far removed from their peaceful origins. Genetic engineering and exposure to war has changed this race for good, into something sinister, deadly and malevolant!
And they know magic kung fu!

Maybe the genetic engineering has grown their face-horns, that were originally getting smaller with evolution through lack of use, into some deadly curly spikes or something.
And make the PC'd eyes look completely soulless and distant.

Ok heres the idea, the tribe implant magic amber into the warrior, when he is old enough to withstand it.. The amber grows into him and slowly he gains the ability to morph areas of his body into bark and vines. The blobs are poison wells, that feed the vine thorns and also burst if the arm catches fire to try and dowse the flame. As a last resort he can cut off the arm and regrow it if need be..
the arm doubles as a shield and will have various projectiles and arrows lodged in the back
I dont think the colours quite work. WIP WIP WIP subject to change!
The mutated arm is looking great and the premise behind is really interesting. I'm really digging this!
The only part that I'm not so keen on is the face. You've got this awesome muscle structure, kick ass arm, horns protruding from the head and then smack bang in between them you have pikachu. A tad anti-climactic for me.

I have one suggestion though, now the character looks symetrical in a really nice way, but how about making the hands look more like the feet? Maby just change the nails so that they have more of that "pigfeet" feel to em?
Loving the forms rooster. Agreed on the face it just doesn't fit with the rest of the piece.
btw.. like the color atm
edit: face idear is cool.. maybe just transfer it into some more realistic form?
i'm a little bit with casey in that the head needs a bit more development, though i love the Steve Purcell-like simplicity of it at the same time, especially with the open mouth in this latest doodle. anyway, these last two are really fun to look at and the second most recent is really enjoyable--unquestionably a new personal best is what you're looking at. but forget i said that, keep your nose to the grindstone
I think you could incorporate a lot of the ideas for this war concept, like big shoulder pads and making something on his neck.

hmm richkid that is kind of the opposite way I was thinking- I imagined the original civilisation to be pretty smart, but peaceful. With the control collar though in the above pic, all rational thought is suppressed and he becomes a savage pawn of his commanders.
The idea I'm trying to go for is that with the control collar broken they retain all the genetic enhancements and programming imposed upon them but their sharp intelligence that was suppressed is now set free (but much less peaceful than before)
I'm mulling over some ideas I'll detail next post, should be interesting
