There's definitely some credence to what is mentioned in that document but I'm not sure it quite got all of the details of the analogue right.
Lets see. We know that GlaDOS represents Prometheus (The Oracle Turret makes this clear. Another Greek reference there too). The round bodied robot is called Atlas. Wheatley as GlaDOS clumsy, regretful brother makes sense. P-Body as Menoetius is kind of arbitrary, but I guess if his 3 brothers all make an appearance then that's a fair enough assumption.
The stuff about Prometheus all makes sense - the game even references the fact that his body was pecked by birds as GlaDOS potato battery body is. The thing about lack of hindsight is a nice touch.
The Pandora reference I think is more problematic. Pandora was the first woman, created by the gods to punish men for their part in the Prometheus fire stealing affair. She was given as a gift to Epimetheus despite Prometheus warnings not to accept things from the gods. Pandora also has a jar from the gods. She opens is out of curiosity, unleashing evil into the world. Looking at Portal 2, Wheatley (Epimetheus) accepts the gift of GLaDOS body (Pandora) despite the warnings of Glados (Prometheus). As a result the corrupting influence of the body is released.
I'm still not sure that's quite right, but I think it's closer. It's all pretty subtle differences, but worth trying to get these things right.
The 1 minute trailer for my animation project made the news on www.blender.org today. It's a one-man show, with no budget, set for a summer 2014 release and will be 20 minutes long. It tells the story of my grandfather's experiences in the world's first full tank battle in 1917.
