Second question was "wtf happened to all the posts?"... Seems like I found all those. It was a bummer reading about the crash with gamespy.

/edit: Don't get me wrong, png sure has it uses though. What with transparency for png-24, and I believe, that it compresses larger chunks of flat colours a lot better.. at least that's what I've heard
HAHAH! Yes, because having half the size in JPG at quality 10 is sooo much inferior to PNG ;P
PNG's great for the web, but sometimes the PNG crusading goes a little too far, as in, PNGs to replace TGAs in a project for example just because PNG crushes down well yet not know the huge impact of loading times it'd have, opposed to a Targa in a compressed zip.
If you've ever played Duke Nukem 3D with the high resolution project, you'd know how painful those 5 minute loading times are (even on high end machines!). Thank PNG for that :P
lol before DVD's even existed, CHUD was a movie that went straight to DVD.
there was a cracked article about movie that need remakes, CHUD was one, but the guy suggested they go "Meta" and the remake would be that the movie was so low budget that they couldnt afford make-up, so they just exposed a bunch of extras to toxic waste and locked them in the sewers after filming.
