Personally, I think that Davision had a great idea. Give him wings really similar to a fly. Maybe half the length that the body is tall. And then give him a jetpack or something. To me it just seems like the large wing structures that your making distract from the awsome design of your character.
this guy's stance/posture/silhouette are pretty unbeatable, and you've put together a really nice and clean mesh. interested to see how you finish up the details and texturing--it's always a bit of a balancing act keeping the geometry reading well, but yours is so clean i doubt you'll have much problem keep on truckin'!
i really like him a lot! great stuff and good you chose the fly-type wing, i think it fits best. I also disagree with onelung, i think the proportions are perfect.
he is 3/4 as high as a human
so he is not intended to be a huge fighting monster.. he is fast small and good protected .. and as soon as he gets some weapons he is going to be very deadly

Great pic! I particularly like the stance as well. I don't know if you've got a definate concept for your weapon yet, but I think you'd get a neat effect by having the contours of the blade mimic the curvature of the wings. Might make it fit in more, you know. Keep on rollin... rollin.

but now.. fixed some problems with the lowpoly looking to fat worked on the normalmap-2dfilter rebaked the head and first texture pass, mostly only laying out the colors

Great piece rollin! The only crit I have is that the wings seem a little busy, and pull my eye away from the character. Maybe have it slightly transparent with an ellusive glow? Again, beuatifull piece.

The pattern on the wings is a bit too eye-catching.
His mouth looks too simple to me.
I agree with <font color="green">Davision3D</font> the helm's eyes should be red like before, right now they kinda get lost. Also a suggestion to make the wings seem not so busy is to give them a transperentcy on the hole thing not just the inbetween cells. Make the cells more see through then the dark lines and the green but still have the dark lines and green transparent.
At start I wasnt sure about this, but after seeing it again all modeled and textured.. I must say, thats one killer entry you got there! I love the wings man.. they are HOT'n SPICY!
Davision3D: thx alot.. there was some wired stuff in the fake-ao map around the mouth.. watched 1000-times on it but never realy recogniesed it.. like always thats made the mouth look bit stupid within a low-res render

actually that would be pretty cool, with the whole bug theme. It'd be worth some playing around with funky perspective to give the whole bugeye feel. Just a thought

atm the city is to cracy unreadable with this settings and it doesn´t reach wide enough
