Nice! I love your style man, your sculpts always have very believable skin details, the way it sags in some areas, and is visibility stretched in others. Keep it up!
Thx for the kind words all. richkid, Everything is very wip atm, don't worry about the fingers
spacemonkey : we decided to skip the mother and focus on the "deamon warrior" for this contest (it's definitly matching the brief better). I'll do the mother for myself just after the comp :]
I just wanted to add a few notes on the above concept :
- Some parts are still WIP or in discussion like the spike coming out from his right arm or the leg's armor which need some additionnal researches.
- The global idea behind this character is that he's supposed to be both "shadow" and "converter". We decided to add a converting weapon to his left hand. These retractible spikes are filled of a kind of venin gave by the symbiote in the back.
sweeeet!
I agree with deathbychris, would look great with just a gaping maw.. like the monster from pans labyrinth. maybe thats not the mood you're shooting for tho
i promised to boycott this forum..but the creativity and execution of this model has summoned me. i came only to tell you not to hide his chest and back with the armor. wonderful entry..
Thx alot guys !!! I'm really glad you like both the model and the concept
Ok well, I didn't have the time I was expecting for this w-e, but I finally moved on the head and feet. I'm gonna work on the armor seriously this week.
wow... i love every bit of this!
but one thing i would suggest:
the front of the head (where the bone goes over the eyes/nose) well, the bone should be a little damaged? i was just thinking a few cracks along the edges, not too much though...
Going to second vahl in admiring the high contrast between the armor and the body. I hope you resist the temptation to greeble up the armor too much--right now it's looking razor-sharp and highlights the contrasting muscley-veiny marbled skin quite well. Overall, one of the more inspiring entries I've seen. Sure as hell better be finished!
Damn, nice sculpting and concept. Looking at all this great work is both inspiring and depressing at the same time lol Well, guess I had better improve and ditch the depressing bit. Damn fine work Renaud.
wow, again, thx alot for all the support guys, it's MORE than appreciated ! Small progress on the armor. I think I could have the highpoly finished for this w-e. I'm already afraid about the NM baking It's gonna be tricky for some parts hehe
btw, the bony part and the cloth are of course still wip

Looking forward to see more progress

to be continued...
keep going.. this one looks marvelous
Here is the painted concept, i think we are close to the final one (he stil needs a weapon, even if he's got his "converter" on his left arm):

(i know your gonna add a face though)

AcerB, cool concept, reminds me a lot of Matt Dixon's work!
Painted concept equally so.
The torso sculpt is really nicely detailed.

i really dig that face
i see he can´t realy lift his arms..
love the sculpt, head rocks and the design rocks still
Sculpt & concept are really amazing. I like the armour too although the thick spiked bits round his neck need bending like they are in the concept
rock on.

uhh, other than that, i c nothing to crit!
