MoP: Awesome. I dig how everything is slighty skewed. You say you were inspired by Gauss, can we see a shot of the model you started from? I've been tempted to try this technique out myself. It always seems fruitful. I think it would benefit EVERYONE at a lot of companies if the concept artists were given a small course on modeling so they could simultaneously speed up their workflow and have good perspective and a base for the environment artists to work off of.
heh, i didn't even save the model. it was a box in the centre with some extruded spheres for the 2 main glowy windows in the centre. the houses on the right and left used to be mountains from a photo.
Woah Peppi that's very nice! May I ask if it was actually painted on paper, or digitally?
Do you happen to know the dutch comic book series Storm? Last time your art reminded me of the Vatime/Blanchard vibe but this time around it somehow tastes like Don Lawrence!
Thanks guys. Yes it's digital paint, the first two were blue biro and markers originally but there was stuff showing through from the backside, hence the paintover.
Pior, I don't know that many comic books at all unfortunately.. thanks for the pointer, Lawrence's artwork looks great (I'd pick up his sketchbook but it doesn't seem to be available in English).
Oh I could definately scan a few pages from it if you want, I got a signed copy of it as a farewell gift from my former AD who happens to be the new Storm penciler, yay!
Jesse, yeah Clone Wars was on TV here the other day and I couldn't help but watch it again (despite all the "dialogue"). Those gunships and the little walkers they're dropping off are probably my favourite things in the prequels
