- Keep models under 1,000 triangles.
- Scenes are fine, if all models are low poly.

500 polys 256² x3 32bit color/alpha, spec, normal
250 polys 128² x2 24bit color , 128 bump
125 polys 64² 128 colors (dither)
60 polys 32² 16 colors (no dither)
high poly games and low poly games. a 500 tris barrel is standard fare on current gen games is nothing special, but if your budget is low to begin with, the barrel has to be optimised.

Looking better, planks could be straighter on the edges, the grain is nice, but yeah, the edges of the planks should still be straight and parallel.

@JohnnySix - I like it, good 'baked' highlights, though I have a feeling the "Merry Xmas!" tag wasn't bought from Hallmark
you can cut down polys on that treasure by A LOT. don't be afraid to get stuck in there with the cut tool and make some big triangles. Also, with the polys you save, the chest would really benifit from having some chunky sides rather than be paper thin!

Zwebbie - yeah, that's been a concern of mine too. I think he stands out pretty good in game though. Plus i have him a little self illuminated..
obviously that's a w.i.p.. and that's an old model i'm using as a placeholder. the final dude will be a white collar skinny office dude.

also, you don't need even nearly that many sub-divisions for your gold pile. try doing it with like ten triangles. if that.

still a wip hand painted textures and the design was not pre planned it was all just spontaneous (based loosely on some topography i have been observing), turned out to be some form of cowboy samurai snake eyed something or rather.
