Hiya everyone! I'm trying to de-lurk a bit, LOL.
Here's something I've been working on. It's a lowpoly elf girl (600 tris to be exact).
I haven't really decided on the colors yet, I was just testing. I got her unwrapped, so I will start texturing her soon.

The proportions are nice and fit well with the style.
Oh and are you still using Milkshape?
I also agree with KDR_11k, a few more verts in the boots would round them out a little, at that size I think they should be slightly less blocky.
Also I think the face looks very flat from the side view, I think this is accentuated by the sharp chin, maybe just add an extra vert in the middle at the bottom of the face to round out the chin and jaw line in the profile?
Nice colours. Hope you get this little elf lass textured!
Looks great for only 600 tris, keep it up!

sdk! (you know you want to be the first SDK on the new boards! )
I made the hands a little bit bigger and the boots a little bit smaller (especially in the side view). Here's what it looks like now (old version is on the left, edited version on the right):
I tried adding a vert to the chin, but I thought it actually looked worse, so I left it be.
I also made an SDK if anyone wants it.
The file includes 2 versions of the model. One is segmented at the waist for the use in Quake 3: Arena, because that's what I intend to port her to if I get around animating her. The other version is the one you see in the thread.
You can pick up the SDK from this page:

Available formats are ms3d, 3ds and md3. She's mapped on a single texture sheet. I've included both a 256x256 and a 512x512 version in the SDK.
got the sdk, hopefully ill find some time soon to do a skin for her. iz badass!
comin along, should have more progress later tonight
@ElysiumGX: Cool work so far. I love the big eyes.
@moose: I love the high contrast metal ornaments. They are very crisp and the design is beautiful.
yah, she is a WoW Night Elf some fan art i guess. I put some of the pieces in there that would make her recognizable as a NE (boob hook things), while still being able to come up with my own stuff. I want to keep pretty true to the wow ne, and have some fun at the same time
About an hours worth.
more here too, getting closer
damn, you guys are good.
I could use some advice.
this model has some nice character, nice job on it demonprincess. its nice to do some old school stuff again too.
Awesome model, DP. Very clean and well built.
grid... Elysium: thats look cool, i dig the lace up clothes not to sure about the tattoo, i think the arms could hold up without it. You may want to try adding more texture to the brown clothing, to really set it off from the skin. maybe some thickness would help it too (edges, slight shadows). those are some big ass eyes too, but they're kinda cool like that.
dig how you handled the hair snowfly... heh thats smart.
there are NEVER enough goth chicks, do one soul!
DH, that boob grabber design and those crazy panties rock. she's a cutie
im done for the night, i may come back to it and tweak some things:
Nicely done, though..
Snowfly: Neat, although the pants just seem to start out of nowhere!?
Ely, that thing is HOTT!!
a bit of overnight fun at 256 resolution.
Just... great to look at. Damn, I'm gonna have to go overboard on mine then!

Grindy, Could we see a shot at full bright? I think right now you might have gotten too deep into the detail work without doing enough broad scale light and volume. She could use some kind of overlay on the leather to pump up the interest level. Looking cool though man. 8-)
Wasn't sure how to handle the lighting because I'm trying for a more simplistic character to match the mesh, but I'll try to hint at more shapes. I plan to add more to the leather. In fact, I think I'm going to wake til next weekend, and brainstorm what I should add to her.
moose: thanks for the advice. the tattoo is gone. I like big eyes, but not in the anime sense. Eyes really bring life to a character, I believe. Very cool metal designs on yours.
Snowfly: that's cool. very smooth texture. I think it's my favorite atm.
DH: Holy hell. Now I know what Poop means by lighting and volume. That's excellent.
Rawkstar: She's hot.
I think Snowfly got it best, but maybe a bit too cute;
moose's looks way to manish, mr_Rockstar's eyes are way to low and ElysiumGX's eyes are way too big I think.
DH's pic is taking ages to load.
a quick start on it. dunno what i should make out of it ...
the hair is painted excellently. just needs some opacity-mapping on the front there and it will be perfect.
the nice rosy cheeks and highlighting remind me of old 1950's style childrens book illustration, which is nice
I just think the style of the body texture doesn't match the style of the face and hair... maybe try a different colourscheme on that? can't wait to see it finished though.
and hey, i'm on IRC right now!

WIP so crits are very welcome.
Great work guys
Anyway, hmm, Ember is the name? Here's a WIP start on my skin i'm calling "Esmerelda" ... heheh
Hot gypsy elves, anyone?
just started the face really, the rest is all just blocked in colour.
MoP
Hair is really cool though.
Looking good Jeffro, I am with mop on the face, and overall there could stand to be a bit more shading and color variation.
