I am trying to replicate this effect. The fluffy moss is painted using the foliage tool but I am not sure on how to approach this in Unreal Engine.
I tried created bloblike-meshes with an alpha but this was not as organic as in the pictures below.
I really love the stylized look of below piece. It is created by Alloart3d.

That looks great, at first i thought it was tiling textures with a mask. But I can see at the roof brick closest, that it got some kind of tesselation effect going on.
Maybe a mix of both. tiling texture + alpha cards on top to create that effect?

I could try blending different alpha layers but how does he obtain an effect that blendss so nice with the surrounding rooftiles?
If I use the foliage tool for this, I create a round mesh but it does not blend nicely with its surroundings.
