I recently bought and assembled my new desk and I'm really not happy with it. I was trying to be all ultra picky and it seemed really comfy in the store, but now I'm really not liking the height of it, and the keyboard tray sits too high. I'll have to do some surgery once I figure out which way I want to go with it. No pics, just me bitching. :0
In that case, axe the tray (those things are worthless anyway) and rely on the height of the computer chair to get the ideal placement. The secret is all in the chair's height range.
I have a really clingy cat, so I have a second chair at my desk with a cat bed on it. She pretty much sits there all the time if I'm on the computer. It's a little weird-looking I guess but it's just me living here so, whatevs. (I will post a picture later if I remember!)
always great to see everyones work spaces. I am currently getting my new space/home office set up so it is rather messy but i'll try to post some pics this weekend and break down all the hardware and stuff i have around it for anyone interested.
I felt the amount of dirtiness was needed to provide contrast and depth against the current portfolios of clean and modern workspaces, which in turn would work together to emphasize the various pleasing attributes of both aesthetic directions
is that the 27" cintiq? Do you just have it laying down on it 2 back "legs?" Seems like a great idea...I currently have mine on the Ergotron arm..seems more feasible to have my regular monitor in the arm instead of the cintiq, so i can move it around when I use it for a reference monitor/browsing the net..
I am currently using an old drawing board as my main pc table..lol
Yarp :icon60:
The two back legs provide enough stability for me. Of course, what I gain in stability.. I lose in positioning.
The trade-off suits my needs, though that Ergotron arm looks really handy!
This is my work workspace, I don't own a office cat but i have pokemon, gundam pilotes and Fire emblem character with me 8D
photo was taken for a contest promo ( had to redo the kid's concept for the game and write a small tutorial on how it works, was really fun ^-^) And for my home workspace.. well It's really not clean haha.
dustinbrown, that is a really classy room! What's the skeleton thing about? You aren't dissecting animals in your art room are you? I'm sure there's better ways to get anatomical reference!
The wall is granite or so, nearly impossible to get a hole in even with a hammering drill , tried getting one hole and took 30 minutes of continuous insane loud drilling then i left it, and didnt care enough to get another type of curtains

might be a problem with the drill bit not being robust enough. like the cheap ones you can buy in bulk in x different sizes. i had that issue until i invested in a proper one. now i can't stop drilling holes everywhere!!! ehhh... anyway, might be worth the try.
Odow: you're using a cintiq as a mere secondary monitor? that does not look like comfy drawing distance to me.
It's a Herman Miller. Not sure if it's the Aeron or the Mirra. I got it when THQ filed chapter 11 and closed down all of their studios. The studio gave everyone their workstations and chairs. Herman Miller chairs are normally quite expensive.
I got mine when Sega shut down in Australia...fire sale loot!
Never used an Aeron but always wanted one. For past 3 years at work I've used a standing work station. This year I had to spend much more time at the desk and got a Staples Hyken chair. It's like a poor mans Aeron. I think it was $130 on sale and I recommend it. Certainly good on my back.
there's a whole class of nice office chairs comparable to the herman miller ones that are very similar in price. the aeron to me simply was the most readily available here and it's so common that you can get aftermarket- and replacement parts for almost anything for it.
i like those armrests in particular. like sinking your paws into supermodel butt cheeks.

What desk is that? Looks fantastically utilitarian. Just the kind of thing I'm shopping for.
(and I'm not kidding)

I like the amount of options you have with it and it seems to be a quite well-known chair.

I didn't see the exact model listed. You may have luck going to the store to see if they have any demo models sitting out.

It doesnt ask you if you "wanna get high" does it? ;-)
On a more serious note, very clean. Love the amount of light you get from those windows.
If only it had a cat...

I know of one local vfx studio that uses these, I also have one here at home. Highly recommended as an alternative.
