Hopefully I won't be in this work space for too much longer, and I can get a proper desk... and my goal is to get a second one of the bigger monitors... or... some better stuff... and I'll hand it down to my wife. I really like the color repro and contrast that monitor gives me.
aleksdigital : I have no idea what I am looking at ... and I love it
What is that third screen laying flat on your desk ? Some kind of touch device ?
The left is asus vg248qe 144hz tn, the right is old 22", the middle is ViewSonic vx2363 23" IPS propped up to around a 15-20 degree angle. This way I can have more code open at the same time and dont need three vertical monitors on my small desk where it wouldnt fit. If you set it up right in the display settings the cursor works between them, too.
Crappy webcam pic. I'll swap it out with a better one later.
Love Trackmania (top-left) I'm trying (and failing) to get it running in Win7. I'm still rockin' the Intuos 3 too, the best feel of any drawing tablet.
The monitor-stand is a recent addition (my girlfriend started woodworking), and I'm loving it! So much more space to put stuff, and they're now at a better height for my neck.
Ugh I don't know how you guys can use those pull-out keyboard things. Here's mine, temp keyboard, while my one is being replaced. The desk I made (with help) from a kitchen work surface! I wanted a wide desk I could fit up to 3 monitors, my PC and room for other stuff on. Kitchen work surface seemed like the cheapest/best option.
Here's mine. My laptop is my workstation. Got an inexpensive double-arm mount with a laptop addition. Keyboard, mouse, and WACOM tablet are all wireless so I don't have a bunch of ugly wires trailing up to my laptop.
Thanks! I did!
Me and my partner made a couple with sawhorse brackets and 2x4s, it's actually very easy: http://www.mintdesignblog.com/2012/08/diy-standing-desk/
You can buy 8 or 12 foot pieces of wood at home depot and ask them to chop the way you need, so no need to struggle with this at home. We just sanded the pieces, painted white and did a light sanding on top so it looks nice.
I'm using a door we picked up from the trash for the top but you can use anything really. Hers is a couple of painted planks lined up and works quite well too!

Its changed a tad since I took this, no shelf on left... less cluttered...computer is more fleshed out internally as well... but its a good shot representing 2015
This thread has made me realise I want some plants.
You and me both. I have a very nice cozy cubicle in a corner here at work with lots of neat stuff but was just thinking today that a plant would be nice.
How do u now rate the racing chair? Is it worth it?
It's the best chair I've ever sat in. Though I don't have any high end chairs to compare it to. It's definitely worth investing in a good chair if you're going to be spending a lot of time sitting!
I recently bought and assembled my new desk and I'm really not happy with it. I was trying to be all ultra picky and it seemed really comfy in the store, but now I'm really not liking the height of it, and the keyboard tray sits too high. I'll have to do some surgery once I figure out which way I want to go with it. No pics, just me bitching. :0

And, yes... MY PC is a cube...
It's late and I'm too lazy to go and turn on the light.

Yup, get another one if you can, it will speed your work up a lot.
@LMP Cube cases FTW!
What size? I was thinking of going for an uber 27" when I upgrade, never been a fan and of using dual monitors but can understand why some prefer it.
One of those ultrawide monitors would essentially serve the same purpose.
like this, but currently with a second monitor, less crap on the floor and more plants

My cats totally own the place
Ableton Push, do you use Live perhaps? ;D
That cat is pretty and it knows it.
Yup!
I'll never win any awards for my musicianship, but I love doing it!
I need to clean up my main desk/workspace before posting pics.
It's the dreamcast karaoke system. I tried to take it off but it won't budge so there is stays. The dreamcast collection runs deep in this house.
As long as you are enjoying doing it, that's what matters

So after hours of experience in "it"...
