Cool! I'm looking forward to see how it turns out.
As it stands its definitely more spaced out than the current version of Polycount, but there is nothing stopping us from requesting changes so long as they make sense to do :thumbup:
Sweet! I can't wait to see Polycount 2.0. Also a being able to edit the title of your topic would be nice !
Did Polycount receive a massive update to the current site in 2010 before the TF2 contest? I mean I was not around in those days but I remember reading it somewhere.

So Polycount 3.0?
well they added the frontpage around 2009-2010? other than that theres just been small additions here and there
I have a few feature requests, it will be good to have some of them implemented in the future:
mark forum topic as favourite [+page with all your favourited topics];
mark forum message as favourite [+page with all your favourited messages];
hide embedded video/picture: load video/picture only when person clicked on «View attached/hided».
It will make initial page loading much faster.
You can always show 2-3 big pics that will always load + a bunch of them under a cut.
Brygelsmack, +1, I'm with you on that.
Refresh is needed but don't make user experience much harder.
adam, good to hear! I like current spacing on the forums. Keep new style closely to it if you can.
Here's example of a BAD design IMO: http://www.gameartisans.org/forums/forums/2-Browse-Art-Discussions
Compare it with current Polycount setup. Is it readable? Not for me at least
Here's my take on how to merge both styles without loss of readability [beware of mad Photoshop skills]:
Quick question, sorry if it's been addressed somewhere, but will our subscribed threads remain intact or should we bookmark those before the change over?
New design and features look nice! I'm trying not to be a crotchety change-adverse guy about it at least. Thanks for all the hard work!
You mention that images will need to be uploaded directly rather than hosted externally — what will be the size limits on accounts? I assume this also includes Marmoset viewer embeds; if so will there be a size limitation per mview file (like artstation's 15mb limit)?
Actually something i've been thinking about with how to make art forums more modern. What if we had a page that worked like reddit does. Where it lists the threads from over the whole site based on how popular/how how many views.
Of course a totally rediculous request, but it could be cool :P.

That might really fuckup a thread like waywo having to click load for each image, even if it is a single click for the current page it would still be annoying over time. Maybe it could be a preferences thing though?
Fantastic, I've been trying to find browsing polycount while on the toilet enjoyable :P
I also agree with the comments about the text spacing. Also really cool about embedding marmo viewer! I hope that also helps you sell a few more copies of toolbag as it is much deserved
m4dcow, good point.
It will be good to have an option in forum preferences to show everything without «cuts».
If «cut» functionality will be implemented in the first place.

But man, the monthly fee of Vanilla is higher than I thought.
Oooh interesting! I am not sure. Let's find out.
Cool news!
I hope it is flashless.

If you remember how old Polycount is and look at the current site either it was good for its time or it has been updated since. Also use wayback machine for older versions of Polycount: http://web.archive.org/web/20000815070639/http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/
EDIT: January 4th 2010 Website is about to recieve update
