An easier way to do tile-ables. Let use all our brushes for 2.5 mode, and let us pop out back to regular 3D mode and then back to 2.5D. Oh man. IMAGINE. JUST FUCKING IMAGINE.
Is there any like, 'Kickoff'? It looks like it goes straight into an artist presentation... are there any announcements beforehand? Wink wink nudge zb5 ?
I don't get what's the point summit with the guest artist just talk about their workflow and the work that they have done without having to show some demo of possibly some new Zbrush stuff that they hyped so much about. At least put up the new version of Zbrush with the artist playing around with the new tools without giving too much away as we salivate and contemplate on the new feautures until the demo comes later on.
I mean come on give us some new Zbrush eyecandy stuff already and enough with the talking. I feel sorry for the guys who are physically there only to just stare and listen to another Zbrush artist rambling on about how their workflow and how Zbrush in great.
Reviewing the work and process of other artists has a long and meaningful historical value to the art community. I'm glad to see Pixologic putting that up front. Some great artists on display there.
Yeah that's great, but there is already a lot of content like that out there, sure it's great to get more, but what got everyone's attention and excitement for this summit is Zbrush 5 and news on some much needed improvements. That's the kind of stuff we can't just go get on youtube at any hour of the day.
Yea the first guy that presneted (forgot his name). Fantastic artist, but it got to the point where they were talking about GoZ and .objs. Like. That dude is way too talented to be talking about that.
I was hoping we would see some stuff like Tom Paul's Zbrush Hard Surface Techniques or some other cool stuff.
I'm sure you guys will update this thread if anything like that does happen though
Well if it is on next year it must be very different because of what people think of this summit. Either that or we are the minority here and everyone else is having fun.

I think you are completely missing the point of the summit, and are passing that assumption on to everyone in the audience (who I'm sure know how to use the provided schedule). This isn't a three-day ZB 5 commercial. Pixologic did not even hype that announcement; fans are just running wild with rampant speculation because that's what they do. There will be a demonstration later on, but for now the point is to bring in a variety of professional artists to talk about how they use zbrush in their pipelines while letting people ask them questions. These studios don't use versions of zbrush that don't exist yet :P
Cool that you can rewind while live stream's still going (you can sorta pick and choose segments that's interesting to you and skipping awkward moments).
if you`re only in it for the reveal then just wait for the news to be posted online. It will probably be all over the place.
I have the stream opened on my second screen while i work and its cool to see other workflows imo.

Yes I am for learning how the pros use Zbrush in their pipeline but to just sit there and talk about Zbrush without demonstrating how they actually use the new version of Zbrush is like teasing us to death about it throughout the entire day. At least showing off the new Zbrush version we can just try and speculate how the new toys work and then at the end of the day they'll fully explain how things work.
Don't they do enough of these pipeline lectures on Siggraph and other events throughout the year when they invite studio professionals to explain their pipelines?

I agree with this. I think I've heard the beginners of Zbrush at enough events now. Also at a place like Gnomon, most of the students/people in the crowd should be somewhat familiar with Zbrush or know someone who can quickly teach them the basics.
In addition, there is the entire Pixelogic website dedicated to all the cool beginner stuff. I really think they could have benefited from showing off some advanced Zbrush workflows that would maybe blow our minds and be like "oh damn, why am I doing X with X program when it can be done in Zbrush in this really cool and unique way. I'm going to tell Bob at work about this on Monday, he's going to lose his mind!!".
Whoa, it's actual modeling! The workflow might take a little getting used to, but it should be fine as long as there are hotkeys. I am considerably more excited than I expected to be.

those pics were twittered, looks like hard surface low poly stuff, so I'm interested in seeing what that's all about.
Totally. I'm not an Apple fan but, they know how to run a Keynote imho
Oh well.
Not complaining since it's free.
A bit?
Time zones are impossible. Someone will always get boned.
I think all the speaker demos would comprise the "FREE" content Gnomon said (in the ads) it will give to online viewers for 1 YEAR (yey, :poly122:)
Yeah, they said to expect to see that stuff during any of the blocks titled pixologic.

Then again, maybe they'll do this all tomorrow..
Edit: woaah. cool
Uh... Wow.
