Oh Joe, you just made me the happiest girl in the world! :femme:
And i just died a bit inside because i always think about the time when Halo looked cooler before MS got involved in it... and turned it into a lame console ego shooter ._.
Checked it out at GDC! Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck its good. Captured me from a distance and I sat and watched for a good while. The lighting in the map they were showing (the desert/hoodoo one) was great. This may get back in to that MOBA style of design.
Thanks guys! This is actually all UE3 tech, just pushing it around with custom shaders and artist shenanigans. We still have a ways to go, but we are all pretty proud of where it's at so far!
Yeah, I got to play this yesterday at PaxE, as well as catch up a bit with Stoofoo...(who I hadn't seen in nearly TEN years??!?! Damn time passage!)
Anyway, it was one of my two favorite visual treats of the show...I'd only seen the trailer up until then, and I'm impressed with how much style was injected into both the enviros and the characters, and how polished everything looked and felt. I'm looking forward to sinking my teeth into it more from the comfort of home! :-)
hey, you guys should come play this with me! I'm at the grand hyatt at pax all weekend, we have a big booth in the main hall, and 20 stations to play it after show closes at gameworks updatairs. COME PLAY! If you give me a high five, i will get you into the beta.
We put up another tinnnyyy video showing a skin for one heroes and a sneak peak of the new Naga model. Finally having enough people in house to do cinematics makes me happy.
just got into beta, played a few games, just wanted to say the game feels amazing! moving around with your hero has a really good flow and feel, good job Motiga animators!
Wow that's some impressive art style you got going on there, it reads really well and suits the game. Only just saw this, but signed up immediately after watching a little of the trailer.
Honestly windows 10 feels good? I was voluntold a year ago to be in the beta...was pretty painless to upgrade.=)
Windows 10 is actually fantastic, I've customized it into my ideal work environment, looks good and it's efficient as hell. Although I've completely removed anything start menu-like, wasn't a fan of what I saw, now I just use launchy as a replacement and happier than ever. If I want to kill a process I type 'ki' -> press tab -> one or two letters of the process name and press enter, feels good. My whole OS looks dark grey as well not just Maya, easy on the eyes.
I played the Gigantic beta for a couple months and I thought it was an enjoyable game...especially once you find a character that you resonate with (<3 Charnok). The art style was definitely the highlight as I'm sure you guys are well aware and possibly tired of hearing.
I then got into Overwatch beta and that game was EXTREMELY FUN...keep in mind I am in no way shape or form a FPS guy, in fact I hate them...but the fact that I enjoyed OW so much just goes to show how good of a game that is. With that said, how do you guys expect to capture the audience, stay competitive with the slew of similar types games already out or are coming out? Smite, Overwatch, Paragon, Battleborn, Paladins, etc...
just a little update: the temporary lay off was actually just that. We lost a few animators in the shuffle but have rehired since. Most everyone else bounced back.

Thats awesome, and I hope getting the Arc deal get you guys on your feet again!
