When using "Projection" in Stencils. Why does Painter re-scale my image by squeezing the image horizontally?
Part two question: Will Substance Painter support stencil functionality as Mudbox does for its painting?
Example:
- User can import any non-square or square image.
- When user sets image as stencil. The stencil will have an option to hide when stroked on model, or remain visible when stroked onto model.
- User can press Q to hide their image (in viewport)
- User can enable or disable "tiling" of active stencils.
If this is already in, i'm having a very hard time seeing where I make these adjustments. If not, these would be great and powerful additions to painter.

Is there a way to copy color values in substance painter?
Lets say I want to copy that brown color value. How would I do it?
It would be awesome if we could right click in the color and have a popup that would say, Copy and Paste. We press copy and it copies the value of the color and then we go to the place where we want to paste it and right click and paste the color.
Basically like how 3dsmax works with its color picker thing.

Not yet. You will have to copy/paste the color values manually for the moment.
Feature Request: Show/Hide parts of a mesh. See 3dCoats awesome mesh hide tool. Something like that. Double click hides a shell.
It's planned, but it's a difficult task so don't expect it soon. (We have currently technical limitations that's doesn't allow us to hide parts of geometry inside a same texture set.)
Is there a way to control the grayscale color of a brush via pen pressure? I want to work on a mask and ideally would like to have no/low pressure paint blackish and high pressure paint white like in photoshop.
Please help me guys or girls!!...i cant open any of my saved substance painter files because substance crashes and i get out of ram message...Is there amyway of getting my work back? God i hope so otherwise i've lost weeks of work

Very cool! I'm excited to see that Marvelous Designer is being used more. Did you use MD for all of the cloth parts? May I ask how you made the boots? Did you have a base mesh and then simulate the cloth on top of it?

Having a strange issue. When painting on anything in a folder it becomes really laggy and then suddenly plop it changes color of the entire substance painter window? *The topmost two folders work fine, past that lag and window color changes?

Substance painter crashes usually when i come up from 1024/2048 textures to 4096 using the slider....and as i mentioned before substance also crashes everytime i open one of my saved files....windows pops up saying out of memory....i have 16gigs ddr3...nividia 780 6gigs ram..and intel 4750k..windows 8.1...max impact iv mb...any ideas of what i can do? Basically i cant seem to use 4096 setting and any number of layers above 4 or 5

Otherwise, are you GPU drivers up to date ? If yes, try avoiding the latest WHQL version of nVidia, it seems they make some problems. I have tested the drivers 350.12 and it seems they work fine.

Hi there, I have seams on my UV islands in substance painter but not substance designer where they were baked...any ideas why this happens? when i export my textures/channels from SP the seams are still visible in Mamoset. any ideas why?
I just started to use Painter and I can't figure out how to edit generator created masks. I watched the tutorial 5 times and Google'd around for a while but no luck. The video shows that after applying the generator I just have to click on the mask and paint. But for me nothing happens as long as the generator is active. Although if I disable the generator the painted mask starts to take effect.

Edit: Figured out, you need to set the blending mode on the generator to multiply. After all I still feel this a bit wonky. You can't add and subtract from the generator by hand at the same time. I see that in older versions there was an option for the generator to make it "combined" with the original mask.

this is my model, fortunately my seams are hidden away but as i mentioned in previous post they display ok in SD, i don't get it. i thought this issue was fixed in SP now, or am I wrong?
Another question, I try to pick a colour but I see wildly different values at different places. If it would be rgb vs srgb but it seems to be changing the hue as well. What have I done wrong? :poly122:
@Fisher007: If you click on the little arrow on the bottom center of the picker window, you'll get R G and B sliders instead of HSV and you'll see that the color on these is the actual color you will paint.
The color on the left part and on the HSV sliders is a little off indeed. Revamping the color picker from scratch is one of our summer tasks, so we'll fix all that pretty soon hopefully.
About the color on the layer thumbnail I'm not too sure why it's different on your screenshoit, I get the same color as the one selected in the Material slot on my side.

A few users already reported us this issue. We are still investigating it. We are unable to reproduce it yet (unfortunately).
