So for my one day submission I'm going to try and complete a head piece for Luna.
My previous attempts at hair with Lina didn't go so great so I have plenty of room for improvement! xD
Well guys I'm not going to finish this month. I just realised I have no internet in my new flat for a while so I can't upload anything =/ I'm using my phone to post this.
Congrats to all who made it, I unfortunately have been bogged down by baking.
On the flipside, now I can make a real low poly mesh and not a really dodgy decimated version.... xD
Half past midnight over here, (though probably not in other parts of the world :P) and there's no way I'm meeting this deadline haha. My medusa tail is almost done, but lacks a lot of the polish I'd expect of one of my items it's probably a couple of days, if not a working week away from being ready.

Leaving it incredibly late but thought I'd get cracking on something, hopefully there is a little time left (it's still the 30th here! haha)
Was in the process of writing a brief walk through of this item creation however due to leaving myself so little time I focused on actually finishing it.
November is ended so we can discuss about new month subject. I dont like luna at all (as hero and model) so ı will suggest something like big things like:
-Warlock weapon and golem
-Doom wings
-Any kind of mounts (not summons because only big summon is golem)
-Witch doctor weapon
-Maybe pudge's back?
-Sniper weapon
And etc.
It's almost winter, so how about going for a ice themed month? We could go with heroes (Drow, tusk, cm, lich, abaddon, invoker (had to stretch to fill with more), or make winter clothes for any hero
I don't think we should focus on just one hero, even if they have just been added because then we'll flood the workshop with Luna mounts, weapons and heads. Maybe we focus on NEWEST heroes? Luna, Abaddon, Tusk, Bristleback. It gives us a bit more variety.

I think your first item for single items released for Luna is the best. She just got released and the workshop could use some saturation on her items to put her inplace with the rest of the heros. Abaddon already has a lot of items in the workshop and a staggering amount of swords and weapons.
P.S. Submitting an item today still counts? The competition started late and we got some trouble finishing our entry.

So no Crystal Maiden, Drow, Lich or Tusk (think those are the only ice heroes on the workshop at the moment)
Yup, that's my point, and it seems silly to exculde them from their own theme. That would be like having a beast theme without beastmaster and lycan, it's just not right.
It would be a creative challenge adapting heroes to fit within a winter theme, otherwise could run the risk of samey items for just a select few heroes. Granted even with no limitations at all the option is still there for people to use different heroes if they wish to do so!
I like the winter is coming theme but I think that excluding the winter based heroes is a bad idea. As for some of the more "summer" themed heroes like Lina, don't necessarily think of blue/white/icey colours instead think of what those heroes would wear during winter - furs, thicker clothing etc.
Interesting idea to limit it to non-ice themed heroes since they're already 'dressed up' for the winter. I think it would be interesting to see fur coats, gloves, etc. on Lina but still fit her color scheme
I don't like the idea of limiting it. Limitations are not fun to me, just let me make what I want in the given theme. There's already enough limitations.
Alright, after some delays and difficulties, we managed to finish this cloak. Stefco's concept really pushed the technical limitations on this one from both a triangle, UV space and rig prespective. We are proud of the results and hope you like it.
about limiting, i think we should allow the cold themed heroes, Reddit is doing a which hunt on item these days and i think its healthy to go a a little less further (like the example on lina with cold theme)
we could split the competition in 2, heroes with the winter theme and the others =]
Btw, i was trying to talk with Adam, one of the big boss here at polycount, he had an idea making something a little bigger. Im trying to talk with him right now and i will let you guys know.
about the late submition, i dont think its fair with the other guys, but i will add to the finished ones in a "late submition" category, so it will be there with the other but not eligible to be win the handplane licenses

ok guy, i think we got enough votes for the "winter is comming challenge" =]
just to define a format, i think we should keep the single items way since its working really nice on the last months. No Restriction of hero but i do think that we should have a new section on a creativity/originality contest.
So for example, if someone made a Lina on an ice theme and doesnt went too far away with the "lore" and also got a good color scheme, this guy really deserves something =]
You guys can start the items, i will wait a little about if we should go for 2 kind of winners for this month and later i will create the thread.
About this one guys, since we dont have that huge number of participants like we had in july and august, what oyu guys think about a public pool for voting on the items?
