Didn't mean to sound so dry and pessimistic, but there are far too many games that look great, get hyped and are boring to play. Gameplay boring, beat your face on a rusty screwdriver boring. Never doubt the artists to make such a great looking game, rather think about management and shitty game designers who make the game -- play. That's gameplay that should be fun and enjoyable, not a chore just to look at some pretty graphics.
Holy shit, that must be what riggers' nightmares are made of :P
Considering how emotive the last of us characters were with a mere 90 joints in the face (if I remember right) I can't help but think that 250 is just overkill?
Either way though, the results do speak for themselves, its fucking beautiful!
Characters and art overall looks gorgeous and well polished!
Not sure about that grey/foggy environment palette thou, hope they show more variety on locations soon.
i like it overall, especially the cinematic felling the engine brings, and I'm fine with the dark environment its supposed to be of that steampunk style, the only concern is the frame rate which isn't showing that well in the demo, you know what, if it turns out really good i might grab a PS4 just for this one
On one hand this video looked gorgeous, with incredible graphics and movie-like lighting ... but on the other hand, it seemed hard to tell what was going on since, unlike movies, there was no rhythm coming from dynamic cuts in editing, and thus the game had to rely on the camera pointing at the enemies and an annoying voiceover in order to tell the player where to shoot.
Adding to that the low framerate which might look good on video but could make the game a pain in the ass to play ... now I am not quite sure what to think of the game anymore ! It looked quite tiring to watch actually
Ok, in all due respect to the people that are working on this here, because the art looks absolutely fantastic, but damn the gameplay looks uninspired as all hell. Granted that was a short slice of gameplay, and not exactly the best video, so hopefully there is more to it than that. The setting/mood/etc can only take it so far.
I have to agree with everyone else here that the tech/art is excellent, but the gameplay shown so far just doesn't look interesting at all. Hope I'm wrong on that though, since I really enjoyed all of RADs releases on PSP.
That room looks fantastic. At the start of that gif there is a corner of a certain chair I spent way too long on. I have been hoping for a trailer that shows it really clearly- since that room is being shown off maybe I will get my wish soon.
Got the game early. Roommate beat it last week and I am maybe 25% in. Game is FUCKING GORGEOUS!
My god is it pretty! The lighting and shading is fantastic. Seeing the metals shine, the cloth look fuzzy and the plaster/rock walls be totally flat and not shinny is amazing! Atmosphere and lighting are great.
There are no jaggies anywhere! and its impossible to tell the difference between a cutscene and in game. There are plenty of times where it switches back to gameplay and I dont realize it for a second or two because its just seamless.
The world feels a bit static (this is only due to extra NPC's they have in the world) They just stand there ever so slightly moving. None of them walk around so they feel stiff and ridged. They are basically barrels that you cant move but have faces on them.

I absolutely love this quote It looks like we are finally putting the era of "everything needs to be shiny" behind us, and that's good news. Can't wait to see this game running.
Well, that's up to my lead, but I'll ask him when time comes. But again, credits to the lead which created a lot of the pipeline (Anthony Vitale), art director (Nathan Phail-liff) and all other artists, they really rocked out and taught me to be a better artist on this title.

Wait and see I guess !!

And one gif showing something I worked on:
Tell me your secrets (if it's not against the rules).
Are you working with 2k or 4k textures?

Unfortunately I don't plan on purchasing a PS4 for at least another year or two, but I'll be looking forward to an art dump!

If the story doesn't hold, it's gonna need other legs to stand on.
Also, there are a bunch of new screenshots:
