Looking good, colours and all! I think the cloth wraps under his shoulder plate should be either reddish brown or red. Currently, the ash brown registers as leather.
i was actually thinking them as leather at the moment, but indeed i modeled them more like cloth, so i'll probably bring it more to red like you said...thanks for making me notice
I find that looking at shaded/material view can really give me the wrong idea, maybe try just flat color and see if you can find something that you like. Plus, that way you can compare it directly to the texture on the default parts which I find invaluable.
i really enyoy your style. i am currently looking for someone to take a look on a concept for a Jugg mask i've done. i have no experience in 3d modelling and want somone to help me with that phase.
Some fellow polycounters today on hangout asked me about a action i use to create my cavity maps (or edge detection maps) and if i could share it, so here it is for everyone who is interested.
Once you unzip it you'll have to load it from the Action menu.
There are 3 actions there, the cavity map will be activated by pressing F8 on your normal map layer...be sure to make a copy of the normal map layer cause it will delete the layer at the end of the action...
If you have any problem just let me know
The normal Overlay is in case you create a custom normal map with the Xnormal filters for photoshop, or with Ndo 2.0 (or any other normal map creators) and then you want to add it to your current normal map that already has any kind of curvature or so...it's mostly used in case you want to create some roughtness on top of your bakes, scratches, or stuff that you didn't necessarely sculpted before.
Hmmm, ingame they kinda look a bit too flat and matte, I feel. I can't really put my finger on it, but maybe more contrast in the rock/lava part would help? That part to me, more than the others doesn't do the texture justice in terms of the masks.
Just finished the sculpt for this Sniper rifle (or better to say cannon) concepted by Robo...in the process i changed a few things and made it more decorated...

The concept was made by Hawf
Would you mind posting ingame pics and maybe your masks? I'd love to know what you did there!
EDIT: I found the ingame gif on the workshop page
