The problem comes when you just make a smaller version of the hero, it might cause conflicts in gameplay i.e. when a player has a split-second of vision, they might confuse the courier with the actual hero which is why I can see Valve being reluctant about putting those in.
Aw :'C I had a similar idea for a witch doctor ward that I didn't get around to posting. Yours is probably better than mine would have ended up being anyway. My only suggestion is that you make the eyes a little more like the standard ward eye.
Like mentioned before, use the standard eyes, because the wards should be seen as wards immediatly without hesitation. And i I would see these wards ingame, i have no idea what they will do, so use the standard color of teh eyes and u will be set.

first of all I would like to admit that I like this ward of treat protector, but I have to say that I have not seen your concept before and I dont think that your ward looks like mine at all. of course all dota items look like each other, there is no point of reporting me for stealing idea. I made easy ward as I could and it is my first item for dota. I dont even think that valve will add it, but I am sure our wards dont look alike, maybe colors and branch. my ward looks like WD ward. As for the ward, humm well... I don't see any assemblance besides the tiny pendant, but I guess it's not the main feature so i wouldn't worry much about it.
The grass is a common concept so really doesnt' make nothing unique to be fair.
And Y shape is not even that evident in Ninio's ward.
That's my opinion, I guess you guys have no need to waste your energies complaining about that kind of "similaraty".

As long as you don't take the likeness from an intellectual property that Valve does not own there is no real ground for the items to be removed or reported. Stop reading so much into and focus and making your work better than theirs :poly124:
