I noticed RPG Maker VX Ace on sale yesterday. I think it actually went on sale Saturday, but the point is it was 66% off. I'm a little too invested in Unity at this point to experiment with a toolset such as RPG Maker VX Ace. But I have a friend who adores traditional JRPGs, and would love a toolset like this that would allow him to construct these games with little to no programming or art experience. I went ahead and purchased a copy and gifted it to him over Steam.
I got Dishonored, and I got to say I'm quite a bit disappointed. Maybe I'm playing it wrong or something, I don't know. But I'm going the stealth-kills route. I got the rune that makes the bodies dissolve when I kill them. The game is now trivial.
Navigating the environment with Blink and stealth-stabbing enemies is fun for about the first 10 times. But then it's just super repetitive. It doesn't seem like there's any more depth to it than that. And in fact the freeze-time skill which I'm about to pick up will make it even more trivial. The only arguably interesting thing is switching between blink, night-vision and the heart. And after a while that's just tedious too. Night-vision goes out at just the wrong moment etc.
I guess maybe people built it up for me too much. I was expecting Mark of the Ninja but in 3D. It's a very flat experience so far.
Bigjohn, You loose "good" points (forget the real name) when you dissolve the bodies, adding more chaos or whatever it is and leading to the "negative" ending. If you knock those guys out and hide the bodies instead you get the "positive" ending instead. May up the ante for you.
Since I already own most of the big name titles, I grabbed "Don't Starve" The other day. The game is a hoot! It's survival, and if you die, you lose, so it's pretty challenging in that sense.
I have a pretty long wishlist of items I'm considering, but I'll see if they go on sale in the next few days, otherwise I'll nab them on the last day. (Not doing this last year really bit me in the arse a few times when I'd buy something at 40% off only to have it go down to 75% the day after!)
Damn, I think over half of the games I'm buying now, isn't new games but games I already have but I want to add to my Steam. Although, System Shock 2 I just bought for the 4 time, because its awesome, even though I guess the developers won't see any money from it (?) since they was closed down.

The rights are all over the place, but Irrational is still around, don't know how much input TTLG had on the game.
^ commandos collection, with links to individual games
Thanks for looking up the link man - it just redirects me to the store main page though.. I'm guessing it's some regional publishing rights thing. Or something.
I don't know if my standards are off the charts but there really havent been anything that I want on the sale yet and I only have a measly 44 games in total in my steam library.
Anyone played Witcher 2 much? Picked it up the other day but seems pretty bug ridden :-S To the point where I have to stand in front of a locked door that should be open, reload the game and then walk through the same door (which is now open after reloading.) Hope the new patches will make a difference
Witcher 2 was pretty bug free for me but I found the first hour or two incredibly hard to get through. However, once you get into the game and the story, it's such a fantastic experience, can't wait for the 3rd installment.
If anyone wants an amazingly cheap and even more amazing 2D game seriously look at The Binding of Isaac. It is the PERFECT game for the middle of that English class.
I picked up the Carpe Fulgur pack last night. I had been meaning to give Recettear a try for some time, but never got around to it. Getting it for 75% off is a great excuse.

I'm glad you said that; I was considering buying.
Anyone played The Swapper? I've only heard great things about it so far. 7 bucks flash sale right now looks tempting...
it`s on there now
I would recommend anyone who likes strategy and tactic games to buy commandos
series since now they cost like 1 and are great coop games.

I'm gonna be killed lol
Darksiders 2, Just Cause 2, Hitman Absolution Professional Edition.
Now if only bioshock infinite or DMC had 80% off.

I never knew they had co-op, well I played 1 and 2 back in the day but I've picked up 3 now for 75p :P
Now to bully someone in work to play it with me =/

But it's ok.. I do have C1 and C2 on GOG
Will probably also grab a spare copy of Human Revolution to sit in my inv as well. $3.75 is crazy cheap for such a wonderful game.
Gameplay wise it didn't do much for me, but at this price it's worth buying just to look at the art
Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim and Torchlight 2 for playing with the girlfriend!
Imo, the best games on steam are under $5.00 or just over.
Yes. Best stealth/stealth-kill game I ever played. I wish there were more like it. And I wish there was a 3D stealth game that was as rich as it.
But I want to play it NOW goddamnit!
Had that happen when i bought it a while back, Unfortunately its the r* servers being overloaded. Mine came through about 6 hours after buying
Max Payne 3 still won't activate, which is weird since LA Noire is Rockstar too, and sailed through.
