Ubisoft have a hard on for PC gamers, Yves Guillemot has been ranting about 93 to 95 % piracy rate for a while now. They even suggested not releasing SC conviction & graw future soldier due to the piracy rate of past releases, PC gamers are potential thieves in Guillemots eyes. The the DRM on graw future soldier is a joke and the bugs where unacceptable. I know many PC users who stopped buying Ubisoft games because PC users are treated like shit. When you isolate & punish legit users it's a major fail and turn off for potential customers.
People buy their games and download the cracked version just to play it without the DRM madness, it's pathetic !
ATT Ubisoft: stick your petitions up your arse
I'm so stoked for this!!! Every bit of news I hear just gets better and better. Still waiting on that PC announcement...But it'll come...it'll come (I hope)
"The Division will employ a seamless multiplayer system, allowing online squads to play cooperatively or engage in PVP without leaving the game world. A "black-market economy" system will allow players to create weapons and items and trade them with others."

Something is not right there lmao. No one I know who actually likes pc gaming ever pirates. Its too much of a hassle and most of them are interested in multiplayer anyway, which pirated games can rarely do
I cannot wait for this on PC, can't wait to try it out with my new 770 :poly142::poly142::poly142::poly142:
Sorry, looks weak it lacks next gen dog rendering tech.
PS: I'm joking, this looks fantastic. I'm super keen for The Division and the tech looks awesome, definitely up there with every other engine on the market. I think I know the reason why the name Snowdrop was chosen too, it's so when future versions of the engine come out you can go like this.
God damn, this engine looks stunning. Let me get this straight... it's an open-world survival game, with that kind of environmental detail throughout the entire game world? How large is the game?
i assume by saying it barely stated means they've got the actual engine and editor almost done just haven't really started on the map? start to sound like a bad joke.
I guess what we saw at E3 was just a prototype to show off the engine and gameplay they're striving for. This worries me, I hope they can achieve the same level of quality in the full game.
Doesn't take a genius to work out.....if you look at the job pages, they've hired a large amount of people in the last three months, the e3 was a demo, to get cash and hype for the game they make after....same with watch dogs, same with far cry 2 and assassins creed 1.
Ye, my point was, in the same vein, it was teased years ago with what was probably a mockup, and the game was actually developed in full after.....I wouldnt be surprised if it was only properly greenlit after the reception it got when announced.
Which is absolutely fine, except Ubi keep showing what seems fairly finished looking games, then take 2 years to finish them
edit: On the other hand, maybe in the case of watchdogs it is just a massive project that needs a lot of time to complete a la GTA5.....I hope its awesome!
Do you guys think the game will have the same visual quality as the E3 demo? This has happened before and it's usually the graphics that takes the biggest hit. Simply because they realize they can't spend nearly as much effort on a huge open world compared to a demo. I hope I'm proved wrong of course.
that's why I love Crytek and Rockstar, they don't bullsh*t that much until one day they throw you the real demo and they often set the bar at a new height.
anyone else notice what appears to be a huge difference in quality between those images? the middle one is spectacular, the other two are not so much... the bottom seems to lose a lot of oompfh due to the low lighting, and the top one... i dunno, it almost looks like a pc (middle) vs console (top) shot or something.
This kind of thing happens all the time (I think). I can't help but think of Aliens:Colonial Marines since that was when I really noticed people getting angry over it. This video shows some quick comparisons of the demo footage versus the final footage, if I recall correctly the demo was even built on a different engine than the final game but don't quote me on that.
Is it a problem? Personally, I don't really view it as a big deal. So many things can go wrong during the development cycle of a game and even if devs were showing real footage, chances are, large changes would occur anyway. One of my favorite games in recent times was Alice:Madness Returns and after comparing the beta trailer to the final game, one can see that a huge amount of the game changed including the main character model, the environments, the weapons, the special abilities, the enemies, and even the entire foundation of the story was changed. Everybody is guilty of showing footage/screenshots that change over time.
Bioshock:Infinite won a ton of awards for being an amazing game but if you compare it to the E3 demo, you can see that a ton has changed. The E3 demo showed much more dynamic combat in the sense that you could create the tears out of nowhere along with tons of other changes you would expect.
In the end, it's most likely due to marketing. Some people might complain that they are being lied to, but if that's the case, then devs might as well not show off anything other than maybe concept art until a game is released. Personally, I like watching trailers and getting hyped because it gives me something to look forward to, it's just important to realize that the final product will probably be nothing like what you saw at E3.
i wasn't trying to say they look bad, they don't. they look great. but by comparison with each other, the middle looks amazing and the other two look like something is different/wrong.
like with everything, there are small things in each image that could be improved and little mistakes here and there, it still looks great however and I'm certainly looking forward to it!
the first image doesnt make much sense to me, it is fairly boring just a gameplay shot that marketing sometimes throw in to help sell the idea that the images are ingame.
the second image looks great, but the dim flare is something that really bugs me. it should be the brightest part of the image, yet it is this dull yellow thing just slapped on. maybe down the the timing of the shot, perhaps it is occluding/fading out behind the branch of the tree.
the third shot has a few issues with it, from left to right:
* light leaking through the wall
*car material looks fairly unrealistic down the lack of reflections/a cubemap that doesn't work well with this viewpoint.
*the light on the interior doorway, is confusing. it makes it difficult to tell what the focal point of the image is, the back of the car or the doorway?
* the specular on the ground from the lights is
* the blue interiors on the right again make no sense, the light seems like a flat ambient and has no direction/form if it is an ambient light then it is way too bright vs the exterior ambient.
again though it is worth noting that it is extremely easy to pick apart a screenshot and i'm still impressed by the quality overall.
Perhaps a lot of it is toned down for consoles, Kitty|Owl? I was under the impression PC users would be getting a console port, so some of the specular, reflections, GI, etc. would be toned down a lot.

I don't think they leave in bugs because of consoles. everything i mentioned can be fixed/changed quite easily without hindering the performance of a console. (and im sure it will be )
You said that The Division has been designed with next-gen consoles in mind. How it is going to look on PC?
As you know, Massive has its roots in PC development. We are working hard and we want to make sure that we have a very high quality experience on PC. You can be sure that our PC version won’t be a port, but a full-fledged, optimized version! We want to create the best game possible regardless of what platform you play on.
For a studio that claims to be so deeply involved in PC gaming, I find it funny how PC gamers had to do a petition to even get the game released onto the PC platform.
Of course, I'm sure the petition had absolutely nothing to do with the decision to bring it to the PC and I'm sure the devs planned it from the start.
Either way, I'm expecting a great game. I just hope it'll run well on my Radeon 6950. I'd like to hold off buying a new GPU for the time being as I'm a bit short on funds due to university tuition.

Sooooooon
Just release the video. Teaser videos for videos are just silly; it's like when CoD does a teaser for a trailer...
Says the person who's website is a teaser. Probably should put some art up there.

I didn't look into it that much to be honest. I still would like to see more art posted though .

The rest of the game will probably be 40% less detailed than these shots. They did the same thing with farcry:

They just over polish these scenes for better marketing
