Yeah, I was really hoping for anything Metroid or Star Fox related. The 3d Mario game looked great too, but a new Metroid done by Retro would've really helped their cause.
I have a question for anyone who will actually buy a xbox, Why? What does the xbox have or carry that warrants buying it over ps3 ?
I'll wait to buy one for 6 mo. to a year, but I will eventually buy one. I've always chosen my multiplatform games on the 360, and the PS4, despite all the positives, I don't see any games I have to buy for it, especially with KH3 being on the One as well, and all the exclusives I'd put down big money for are on the One, (Halo, Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive.) Not to mention I prefer the controller, and I actually enjoy using kinect to navigate via voice, it's easy, and I'm lazy, so an improvement on that is awesome. The prospect of being in a skype call with my brother while we watch the football game together is also very cool. Obviously this all only applies to me, but you wanted reasons, those are mine.
That being said, The Division, Watch Dogs, and Titanfall bring it home for me, Super Mario 3D land as well.
I am excited for Donkey Kong Country but I was really hoping for Nintendo to be a little more ambitious with what they announced. I mean it feels like half the games they have announced and released in the past 2 years have been Mario platformers.
Agreed for me as well. DKR was amazing, but this looks almost exactly the same. Again. New 3D mario game with 4 players is an interesting development, so I'm excited about that one, but Donkey Kong looks like just another platformer game added to Nintendo's millions of others. It'll be great and I'll love playing it, no doubt in my mind, but it's hard to be excited for it.
I'd also like to see new Metroid and Starfox. New F-Zero too. I like that the new Mario Kart goes into anti-gravity, but I'm aching for a true Sci-fi arcade racer again. And some new IP would've been nice too, I like the look of that Xenogears-like game they showed, but I could definitely go for more. Nintendo needs to show some more "adult" stuff like that if they're going to win back the core gamers they lost with the GameCube and Wii. Not that Nintendo needs to be more adult with their games, I LOVE their stuff, I just want a greater variety.
The Entertainment Software Association, the company which owns and operates the E3 Expo, called the Los Angeles Police Department today in an attempt to shut down Ouya’s public presence at E3 2013.
Normally I would question this, but given Ouya's terrible performance as a console on its own, I really couldn't care any less about them being shooed away from E3.
I'm not sure if this comment is sincere or full of derisive sarcasm:
yeah im starting to feel sorry for them. just think, it could have been us. if you came up with a great idea, got it kickstarted into fame, and wanted to attend E3 but the big wig corps laugh at you, your product, your dream. i would be so self conscious and stressed had i been forced to present in a parking lot blocked by trucks and full of police
but seriously the ouya madness is just making this already epic e3 even better somehow
Its called Free Enterprise. I imagine Bill Gates and Steve Jobs got their start in similar fashion?

I really don't think it's cool do to. I dont care about the platform but let it fail on it's own merits, not by parking a big truck in front of it.
I think the biggest problem with ouya is the myth that there is some hard wall to get games published.... if you make something quality you CAN get it onto platforms. I've never heard otherwise.
honestly, it looks like FFXII gameplay, on crack. and that's a GREAT thing.
i was so disappointed when they moved forward in gameplay dynamics in FFXII and then BACKWARD in FFXIII... the instanced battles were cool and all, but the openworld fights just seem like such a good fit when they're done as well as they were in XII.
i'm also REALLY glad they got rid of the XIII-Versus title, and made it XV.
I thought the same thing, got more excited watching that video... but as most FF battle systems go I try to reserve all emotion until playing it. 12 has become my favorite in the series, am praying they release it on Vita, and hoping this combat is at least a little bit like it.
It looks great, didn't look as nice in the cinematic/gameplay trailer cut, but definitely holds up well on its own. Love their VFX, always amazing
I do hate how Nomura's designs make every male look like a j-pop star. I like the other concept artist (who does Tactics, XII, Vagrant Story) a lot better.
Yea, I was super pumped when I saw Nomura come on, and then there was gameplay. Watching Noctis fly around, hopefully player driven, revived my faith in Square. Super pumped for more info as it comes out.
I'm really hopeful for the NPC/player teamwork that it seems to have in order to take down some of those bigger enemies (Behemoth & Iron Giants).
IMO nomura is the worst thing to happen to that franchise, once he stopped being just concept artist. Now every other final fantasy game is like dragon ball z on coke, with perfectly styled hair.

Im a big fan of J-pop design, handsome and pretty anime styled cg character,
but I have to agree with you, , it became very uncanny with realism happening in next gen graphic and darker storyline they want to approach in FF XV.
