yeah - that was my first submission for this contest and my first submission in general :)

it's quite addicting, i assure you. I doubt i'll be getting much done on any of my other side projects for a while.

    and i'm reverendFlacid

my next submission will have our happy little greentooth in the promo stuff. This was kind of a test run for me.

Hey Reverend, do you think that without our contest and the one month deadline you would have the same result or the contest helped you in some way ?

I definitely think the contest helped. I had started a couple of items, but i've got a retardedly busy schedule, so they were all just kind of hanging there waiting to be finished. I work full time and I have a wife and 3 kids, so it's hard for me to get much extra-curricular art done. Deadlines help motivate me to make the time.

In all honesty, i probably won't make items aside from the competition here - a month on these kinds of items, a month on those - it keeps me from getting all jumpy and switching projects every 4 days..which is usually my problem.

    Don't you dare stop.

It helped a lot. Without a deadline I would just procrastinate forever.

I also have a couple of questions now.
Why do you want to know?

    And for experienced item makers

What's your average percentage of positive ratings?
I've been fluctuating around 85% almost since I submitted the item and want to know if that's good or not :P

because one of the reasons of this competition is to help new guys to start on the workshop

my ratings goes from 97% to 99% because people loves couriers =]
im just counting the items i did alone or with my friend cesar

i have an item with 99% aproval, almost 8k votes and not a single word from valve, the votes and rating doesnt mean that will enter the game

    Damn that's high O.o
I'm not currently worried about getting in game or not, I just want to improve and I've got a long way to go before I get anything close to those ratings
