We got a rescue dog back at the end of Oct. He's been amazing but basically stuck in the house over the cold months. This weekend we were able to get him out to the dog park and let have a play. Watching him run around and play with the other dogs and have such a great time really made me happy and grateful that he's in our lives.
Managed to delete most of my dropbox back-up today while wiping a PC. But because they are awesome dudes altogether I could just restore everything from their website! Disaster averted.
After many days of long hours finally finished the first build of the game for GDC. So far for the first deadline really happy that a relatively inexperienced team has done very well.
Game looks good and cant wait to see what the press/audience will say. Yay!

Today I took it apart and baked in the motherboard in my oven for ten minutes. I put it back together and it booted first try. I have access to all my short stories again, and can go back to work getting a particularly memorable one out of my head and down in words.

Interesting. I spilt a bit of water in mine. Won't turn on now. Been quoted ยฃ300-ยฃ500 by a repair shop to fix (it's worth ยฃ500 working). Can't afford that, so might try your oven trick....
On the positive side I've learnt to never buy an expensive laptop again.
The baking only works because it reflows the solder on chips that have de-soldered due to overheating and cheep solder with iron impurities. Probably wouldn't do much for a board shorted by water damage.

The basic Unity license for iOS and Android is now free (down from $400/platform) as of today. This makes me feel pretty good, although it's still a bit tough to find things to make in Unity that don't need the features from the Pro version (e.g. occlusion).
I have to celebrate somewhere, and Polycount is where I learned most everything, so... making CGHUB Editors Pick made me feel good, and is about the coolest thing that ever happened to me. I woke my wife up at 1AM when I logged on to see some cool art and almost spit water on my keyboard.

I heard a sonic boom today! it was so loud I thought a petrol tanker had exploded or something! but it was a Euro Typhoon Jet flying over my head, windows smashed and car alarms went off, very cool, I would love to fly in one, piloting that sexy baby must be almost as good as making games

Gotta get mushy here for a sec, but it made me really happy going home for the first time in 3 months after I moved for a job and seeing my sister get married I was even in the wedding party!
