Thanks to the amazing discount for active subscribers on Megascans, I was able to extend my 3d plants library to more than 70 different species. Now its time to make something beautiful with them...

Yes Megascans are quite generous to the subscribers. Also i really love how often they update their resources. As oppose to substance with their lack of Source updates. I have like few hundreds point sitting there collecting dust.
I am very happy to say the University of Hertfordshirewon Best Educational Institution at the TIGAGames Industry Awards 2019.
One of the video game industry's most prestigious events in the UK. The event was held on November 7th at the world famous Natural History Museum in London. TIGA's ceremony was recognising the contribution of educational providers towards the UK's video game industry, among other honours.
We are so proud, it’s a fantastic achievement and a great credit to all the students, academics, Alumni, technical and support colleagues who provide such an amazing experience for the students. We are delighted to have won such a coveted award, it’s a fantastic achievement. To be handed this great accolade by Dr Richard Wilson OBE [recognised for services to the UK video game industry] is a testament to the years of hard work building a course which has gained so much recognition.
Such a fun night as well, I have to show you the photos as it was such a cool location to be surrounded by dinosaur fossils while eating a fantastic meal and an after party with lots of bubbles.
Anyway, it's a new academic year and I already have loads of marking and research to get through, SideFX: Houdini being top of the list at the moment
If you have not watched it on Netflix then give it a try, its amazing. I watch Sergio Pablos give a pitch at FMX in Germany many years ago in a small room when it was just a prototype of an idea. I am so happy for him that he managed to finally make his dream come true.
@littleclaude congrats to you and your fellow faculty members!
Thank you Taylor
I came across this company at the TIGA event, definitely going to be supporting this in future events.
SpecialEffect- https://www.specialeffect.org.uk/ By using technology ranging from modified joypads to eye-control, we're finding a way for people to play to the very best of their abilities. But we're not just doing it for fun. By levelling the playing field, we're bringing families and friends together and having a profoundly positive impact on confidence and rehabilitation.
Kerrang Radio called on the way to the Unreal London Academy event in London and gave me an interview due to my Uni course winning so many awards this year (The Rookies, Unity, TIGA). The recording is going live tonight, Friday 9pm GMT. If you don't know Kerrang it's a heavy metal radio station but they have games shows on Fridays, give it a try.
Our Darth Vader is unable to attend our Christmas events so at 6'3" I've been promoted from tallest trooper. Plus, my son troops as ROTJ Luke so the whole 'I am your father' deal is real.
I've started an indoor herb and vegetable garden in my apartment, after putting it off for so long. Now I cross my fingers and hope things actually grow There is way more to indoor gardening than I would have thought!
starting tomorrow as the Lead Lighting Artist at Counterplay games on Godfall, one of the first PS5 games. should be a cool project to work on. Also it's a remote position, so I get to work from home in my PJ's and gets my commute down to 0 hours per day lots of talented ppl working on the project, cant wait to get my hands dirty! really excited to step into a leadership role and crush 2020.
This guy has forged a nice life for himself filming great little Go Pro videos. They all remind me not forget to live life. Worth checking out Tokyo, London, Dubi and the others.
A little ray of sunshine torrential rainfall throughout this past week is helping to putout some fires that are still burning during this most deadliest of bushfire seasons, that'd devastated my country.
Got outta bed this morning feeling the blues...winter has definitely kicked in hard, here in the Antipodes. Bloody snowed on Mt Dandenong, just the other day for Chrissakes! when during the height of Summer in Melbourne we're typically hit on average with 36C+ temps...WTF!!! O_o
Anyhoo, flicking through Stefan Morrell's amazing art (...been a fan since god knows when) tends to put a smile on me dial, heaps https://www.artstation.com/stefan_morrell
Basically if I happen to peep a mech/space ship populated dystopian or otherwise scifi derived piece, then yeah my eyeballs will usually zero in ogling all the nice bling
Typically Fausto De Martini and Feng Zhu would dilate the pupils too
What made me feel good today was to find out that Mount and blade 2 bannerlord finally has a official release date; by the end of this month! its about time...
I gotta make me some medieval theme meshes while I wait for it!

Blender no longer goes inverse when working upside down.. And realizing that they are constantly fixing one bit after the other of the remaining annoyances like they could read my mind. From all apps on earth blender was really the last app where I would have expected this to happen - and the more glad I am now!
https://youtu.be/IwbbMFXr_rA?t=113 @ 1:53 if it doesn't work other wise there was a much better one i say just yesterday and for-whatever reason the video of down, it was really good. This will have to do for now, i don't own a dog, its just those moments are pretty neat.
THERE IS NO GIZMO WORKFLOW IN 3DS MAX! Using a combination of Selection Lock on G with Axis Constraints on Z/X/Y/Shift+Z I can have Blender's no-gizmo workflow in 3ds Max. Well, somewhat. Still takes 1-2 more clicks (I have to G->X->G for example) and snapping is a toggle, not a hold, but it's better than aiming at that shitty little arrows and having Max randomly select either the gizmo or vertices nearby, whatever it feels like...
@ned_poreyra I have been trying to find a no gizmo workflow for years now but found nothing reliable. You can use this script which kinda improves the no gizmo functionality
"This macroscript tracks your mousemovement if activated. When you start a drag in a perspective or user viewport it will find out the best major axis of the mouse drag you currently do and lock the axis to it. Inspired by LightWave and the idea was brought for by Paul Greveson."

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a solution to rotating with no gizmo properly?
