Alex Senechal's, zero to Pro story. "self-taught from a Digital Tutors account for 6 months on 250 dollars borrowed from my dad. I learned a majority of what I know from Polycount and tutorials online."
I am a bit behind the times but two things made me smile today, I noticed ZBrush now comes with a transform gizmo and a really nice looking boolean tool.

Kickass! Got an awesome grade in my MBA talking about lean production in games management. Pixar's Ed Catmull ("Creativity Inc.") was a great inspiration for this assignment. Pick it up if you want to learn how Pixar works internally - very inspiring read!

My work mate (Lewis Guarniere) made a 3D print for a blind pregnant mother, what a top man - for free I should add.
It was made using 4D scanning techniques at the Verulam Clinic in St Albans. During the procedure Lewis considered what it was like for visually impaired expectant mothers who cannot experience this 3D data displayed on a 2D monitor. He realised it could be possible to use 3D printers to print the data in a medium that a visually impaired person could see through touch.

I've seen this elsewhere before.
I am sure there are, I was just happy to see a video of the blind lady in joy at feeling the 3D print of the baby inside of her. And maybe blind people have a hard time where to find the service, especially for free, Lewis just did it because he is a top bloke.
My 'day job' has been a real bitch lately (...work in private security) the hours are long for not much moolah in the pocket at the end of the day. But thankfully my current Hardsurface 'Tiger II' WIP keeps my world turning and since I'm pulling afternoon shifts even better. So lately fuck all distractions to deal with when I get home plugging away at it, pulling all nighter's every-now-'n'-again
The first mobile game I've worked on was released last night. Speed Freeks - a Warhammer 40k lane runner/shooter. I learned a lot working on this game. Best team I've ever worked with! https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/speed-freeks/id970128333?mt=8

Sunday at midnight, sailed my friend's 35 foot sail boat under the full moon and stars around some islands off the coast of BC with strong, warm winds. My good friends were drinking at the front of the boat, but I was at the wheel, looking at the reflections of the moon in the water. If there is a heaven, it has this moment to compete with. I still can't get it out of my head.
