WOW Looks awesome!! I know the hair is just a test But the only thing I would crit is the hair at the back should have some strands in between and be more spread out. Also are you going to be pushing the wings skin texture further i would love to see the red part of the wings have some variation and some SSS on them I cant tell if they already have that but I think it would really push them to the next level. Other than that this is truly inspiring man well done
I've made some small tweaks, but at this point I've spent long enough on her. I've learned a lot on this one, things done right/wrong, and am looking forward to applying it on my next character.
After this next character, I'm gonna stick to game models for a while. These render times are too long for me lol.
I just looked through this whole thread (excluding watching the videos). I think at the beginning faces were one of your weakest points and they've improved tremendously over the 2 years of this thread. Kudos!
I just went through this whole thread and just realized its 2 years of improvement. Awesome work! I love your lei lei and succubus characters especially. I'm a total noob, but I want to help you improve. I seems like you have mastered blobs for hair and fibermesh type hair. I want to suggest trying a character with cards for hair! Keep up the great work
Look into my eyesssss!!!
Started working on the textures, next I have to create the hair. I'm going to try Tom Parker's method because I suck at low poly hair lol.
I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks this. I could really go for a gumroad tutorial/stream or even just a recording of your processes while you work. Like I said before, seriously inspiring stuff!
You're the first to say it lol. I don't think I have anything to offer in a gumroad, but I occasionally record some sculpts and upload them to youtube.
I've been binge watching Penny Dreadful and really wanted to sculpt Eva Green's character. Good excuse to practice some likeness sculpting.....I still have a lot to learn, lol, but I'm gonna keep at it.
Yea, I def went too low with it lol. I'm not going to finish that bust, I made a lot of mistakes with it, but that's good because now I know what to do differently with my current project.
I momentarily put Vi on hold to participate in the Retrogasm competition. I'm done with the low poly and textures, now I gotta pose her and make a nice lil environment for her
ZOMFG Spiderdude, THAT'S MY DREAM!!!! O_O (I mean remaking the BOF series) So by intending to, I'm training myself for with "simpler" stuff that will ready my skills to sculpt all them main characters~ I chose Gabumon as part of my training so far because, he has fur, a tiger coat and is an androgynous animal, plus he's kinda basic so it helps for bof's chars. I would also like to finish him today so I can submit him to the Retrogasm challenge but I can't seem to find where I "get in" , the facebook group didn't accept me and nothing pops up on search around here @_@ T_T Spiderdude, did you use the original color palette? It looks so saturated. What did you use for fur?
Hey Yoji, you should've been able to join, on the right hand side at the group, there should be a "Join Group" button. Everybody in the group will get a notification about it. Give it another shot, I'll keep my eyes open for it in case the other members miss it.
I didn't use the original palette completely, I took some liberties with it. For the fur I used the shell method, basically you duplicate the area of the model that will have fur and stack it over one another. Then I created an alpha which is just a bunch of tiny white dots. If you check the polycount wiki and search for fur you'll find more examples there.
Hey niiice Thanks, I didn't get to that method yet! I'll try it on a hamster I've been working on, but I really have to finish Gabumon, like now xD Sry for posting him here, I though I was posting to the "what are you working on thread" @_@ When I make Nina from BoF3 I'll be sure to post here ^^ Still didn't get accepted to the group, I sent you a message on facebook
Current progress on VI. I've been going back and forth a lot on the folds to her pants. Trying to find something that flows nicely, not there yet, gonna keep chipping away at it. I'd appreciate any feedback

Some more progress. I'm trying my best to finish her up soon, because I want to start working on my Darkstalkers entry.
First full hair test

Simple torso sketch to get back into sculpting after spending weeks in Vray.
A doodle I made last night
Also Cerebella is freaking me out haha

That is a good idea and one I haven't done yet, so I guess I'll make my next bust a low poly with hair cards!
also, here is a portrait sketch
I used actress Janina Gavankar as reference.

You should definitely put more tris on that last chick, she's soooo lowploy. Next gen man, next gen...
It's still very very WIPy, started this week. This is the concept I'm following. I'm not really following the style, just the idea.
This is Katt from Breath of Fire 2

I'm almost done with Vi as well, been taking it slowly learning some new stuff.
