Term for upper lips being raised, revealing teeth, when in a neutral expression?

So this has been bugging me.
A lot of concepts I see lately of women, and some notable actresses and models, have this one physical trait where their upper lip is set higher, thus when that person's face is at a neutral expression, their upper front teeth are exposed.
I know there's a term for it, but searches are coming up dry since it's a big string of words and I often get too much scattered info.

which is a very appearent facial feature in cg chicks lately, or well chicks with facial surgery in most cases

I don't know that there's a specific name for something like that, and I'm pretty sure it's just an aesthetic choice. Lots of people have lips that are naturally parted that way and it's simply because of how their faces are shaped. As for why you'd do it, the answer is pretty simple: it gives a sort of sultry, sexy look without having to do a lot to sell the effect.
imo this is not suited for game art.
try to get theese ladies smiling and u´ll see why.
i am kinda surprised most character artists around here take the lazy route and don´t model their faces with open mouths, like they should for best facial deformation results.

It's because it simply isn't worth the trouble. Most characters you see in video games are going to be wearing neutral expressions for the majority of the time they're onscreen, so modeling them with open mouths doesn't even make sense. In addition to that, it's not as if even the highest-end characters (think something along the lines of Uncharted or the Last of Us) are actually going to benefit from a mouth-open sculpt and model for a very high percentage of the facial expressions they'll be making.
Basically, it's a "good enough" solution. Most game art is "good enough" solutions, anyway.
my highpolys always have a blendshape for open mouth, so do my lowpolies, for presentation i still am using a neutral but closed expression
Also; That is why when modeling lips you make sure they're not exactly ontop of each other, have a tiny gap, just enough to use a cage on if you wish, and most importantly, you texture your lips properly.
Many people assume the lips are a Normal Map, with a flat Specular, when it's most of the time the opposite (flat Normal, custom Specular/Gloss map), since your lips aren't aren't try to give off that much normal/diffuse information, especially for a skin part.

It's sort of a signature look for her along with the mouth slightly openned and the head tilted up. Even when she gives a full out smile you can see that her upper lip is more active than usual.

It can be caused by a naturally short upper lip (so genetics) or sometimes from mouth-breathing a lot in childhood. A friend of mine has this in his family. A lot of people naturally have a gap when you're in a neutral pose (mouth at rest) but if your mouth is closed and your teeth are still exposed, that's less common.
Jon Heder is a good example - as Napoleon he forced it by keeping his mouth slack, but even if you find images with his mouth closed, you can see he's forcing his lower lip up to meet the top lip.
The general name is lip incompetence but do not google that as the term also means all sorts of other messed up stuff. I have a strong stomach but this will give you a whole ton of horrible medical images.
To the topic at hand... I don't think it's just a trend in game art, or even much of a trend for that matter. It's something that's been around for years. A lot of models use that pouty expression, and a lot of artists draw women with it. Why? It's sexeh.

It is called an OVERBITE, and we can sometimes see or hear the usage, 'a cute overbite', applied to a female. One would never say that someone with buck teeth is 'cute' or pretty, so I assume overbite is the idiom being looked for.
Cute overbites: We'll start with Barbie Benton. Maybe... Susan Dey was another. Continue.

This is evidently a topic of high importance to overbite aficionados (nice name for pervs).
To be fair, the bots' replies are impressive. hl123987 clearly took the effort (?) to list some examples so I feel obligated to add one myself.
I was asking myself exactly this question, and when I googled it, this thread came up.
And I'm now not sure my answer is entirely satisfactory given that some of the pictures I've seen don't necessary indicate an overbite but simply show a shorter upper lip.

Overbite is caused by the lower jaw being set back so it's unrelated no?

I think overbite is related to a version of it but may not be necessary in cases where the upper lip is short and upturned, and this is enough to reveal teeth.
The bigger question really is whether we'll still be pondering this in another ten years..

If it does reference my 2 posts ...
