As an experiment, I have asked friends to close their mouth and then to let their lower jaw drop and I cannot remember ANYONE having their upper teeth show. It seems, like, perhaps ALL women in Hollywood / entertainment have their teeth show.
It can be seen A LOT.
Try this ... in your daily life - see how many people around you, wherever you may be, have their mouth open (lower jaw relaxed so it just hangs open) and take note of movies and tv shows you watch and see how many people have have their mouth open (lower jaw relaxed so it just hangs open).
Once you start seeing it you can't stop seeing it.
Lifted upper lip is a different feature than overbite. The former is indeed done as a cosmetic lip surgery for women, while the latter is just a result of the jaw being recessed relatively to the upper teeth.
