figured I'd practice hand painting textures because the next environment will probably require it, so 3 hours of modeling later... awesome low poly smith guy ready for uv's and texturing, oh there's a vert that doesn't have to be there, target weld for you!

If you guys choose to do that one there are other views, it would prolly be the best choice, and is (i think) Deus Ex Concept art, so you could reference the game for ideas.
This thread has become a jumble of people posting pics and wanting them to be the next contest picture. The organisers should either pick one to be the next contest or tell us which 5 (or so) need to be voted for or this will never end.

I like #3 for the multiple compositions that can be brought out of this as well as the various destroyed textures that i can attempt to paint, even further the story that one can tell in here is amazing...whose basement is this? a serial killers? an old war hero's? a comic book nerd hacker hideout? the ideas to me are endless

The problem with number 3, even though it's definitely a great modelling exercise, is that it lacks what makes most environments so great; lighting. At least the other pictures had something of interest, the inn scene had a fireplace and that sci-fi one had a really awesome atmosphere.
I'll definitely participate but I don't agree with the decision to go with picture 3 at all.

I dislike picking things appart but as artists we still have artistic freedom thus we can create an atmosphere? can we not? or are we supposed to follow the concept to the hard letter? if so then ill just shut my mouth
