Is anyone else having GCFSCape get an error when trying to open and extract the latest dota2 test vpk files?
I want to get back to finishing my courier since I have only anim tweaks and hitboxes left... if I cant extract the vpk files I cant test my courier in game.
GCFScape used to work fine, it just seems the like the vpk files for the latest dota2test dont work with it.
Did some mor work on my weapon for Centaur, I think I'm going to make a full set for this so the weapon also fits all the other parts. Tested out a few color variations but I really disclike the blue/greenish color and it looks really bad on the weapon..
Rescaled the blade and changed the colors slightly and updated the masks so everything stands out better. What do you guys think, I would love to get some comments?

the thing is though , gold ? isnt he supposed to be a poor ravaged gladiator ?
replace gold with iron ( not even steel) and check out more variations
IT IS awesome anyhow even like this but i dont think it'll make it ingame.
I still think it would fit this character better if turquoise was used instead of gold.
Maybe the previous colours I suggested might not be super awesome looking, but just changing the gold to turquoise make the axe fit in with the character allot better imo.
But than again, if your personal preference is the gold.. Just ignore what I am saying. =P
I'm not a huge fan of the gold. It detracts way too much from the hero. You can accent it with gold, but the primary color shouldn't be that in my opinion.
Thanks for the comment guys, actually I made it gold because if you read the bio he was the uncontested champion of his kind. He won the belt of Omexe. This Axe should be his next trophy, like Asi said it should be king worthy.
Also I never read something that he was a poor fighter, he won so many battles that he should be the richest centaur alive I also made different color options, but except for a bronze look instead of gold it didn't looked as good as this..

Sry didnt even saw that post, but I completely agree that your color would fit the original character better. But after the comments i was thinkin of making a complete set with gold parts instead of the turquoise.. Like this:

I'd really like to see a courier like 'Thing' from Adams family.
FINALLY! Still have to make the other images and fine-tune the colors to match up, but I'd say this was a smart move. Originally, the LOD1 model didn't adequately use it's tri-count, and had extras on the back of the horns (pointless), so I decided to have the front have more detail, and line the inside of the maw. The old version was flat and boring:
But the new version looks a lot better, AND is designed for using a proper normals map, AND solves my issue with the Mask1-R not syncing up (or at least it will).
4,6 and 7 Are the best for me. Maybe try a gold that is less yellow and closer to that of the shield on centaur's belt.

Ok I picked myself up again, and made some better concept. Looking back to the other onces it just looked awfull So I went back to all the original textures and picked the 3 colors which are most dominand so it stays within the color sheme, so I will finially get an item ingame
Here's what i got, I like right and middle one the most.
First set is up and running. Had some fun trying to get things to preview correctly, but I started getting consistant results in the end. I'm probably going to still make the odd tweak here and there. Would be great to hear what you all think. I've learnt a lot doing this and no doubt the next one will be a lot better. Time to move onto the next idea.
Anuxinamoon. That looks great! =] I love those owls. The only thing I feel that is out of place is the glasses/goggles.
It makes it look like the eyes underneath are very small and close together. The big, wide spaced eyes look very cute. I think bigger goggles will suit this creature better.
The other thing that is bothering me is that this creature looks to be a nature creature. While the goggles seems to be manmade.
Maybe instead of small rubber/plastic, dark blue/black goggles, big leather or cloth goggles in light blue/green would suit better?

I would comment on the same issue but I know the sunglasses are somewhat the symbol of Cyborgmatt. If a replacement is needed, I think the best conversion would be to something wooden.
@Reyne I agree with aivanov, you can sort of see the damage in the portrait shot and barely at all in the game model. Either made it more apparently, or work the damage into your normal and diffuse maps. That way it's more noticeable.
I'm not so sure I like that hair. There's nothing particuarly wrong with it, it just seems a bit to...dreadlocky. I always thought windrunner should have flowing, windswept hair, not stuff that clumps together like that.
Having said all that, you're much better at this then I so please continue

Well I did the piece for training purposes, not really a serious item because Valve would never add this to the community It's only for real chapions..
But it was made pretty quick, and I learned a few new thing which is more important. Not sure if I'm going to submit it either.
How do you get it to show up in game? I have seen the alien swarm stuff but as of late I have seen more and more people actually showing their models off in game, as well as the ability to choose their animations and such. Is this only done once you submit the model? Or is there a way to view the stuff before you submit.
